In case you think that CMC and Exoto moved the goalposts in the 21st century.

The second clip is probably better known, but for those who are unaware of it here it is anyway.

Who knew how hillclimbing was so important during the 1960's that Porsche built a very special car for the job?

Here are details of a very special modern tribute car:
https://www.ultimate...Bergspyder.html
My preference (as always in such things) would be the original, it was used on the tracks in anger....

I saw that Boxster tribute on Pistonheads last week.  From the front it looks a bit like the Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss to my eyes, and I'm not a fan of the buttress design.   I know modern cars are overweight but it's surprising just how enormous it looks compared to the car that inspired it:

I was in Mondello park yesterday to see the Museum Lola T90 and T70 being fired up for demonstration.
The T70 small block Chevrolet sounds mean up close, and drew a crowd from around the paddock.
But when the Ford Indy engine was startted up it caused me to put my fingers in my ears.
Something I would not normally contemplate, I love the sound of race engines unfettered by silencers and regulations.
But at close range I didn't want to risk long term hearing damage.....

Images of the completely rebuilt second place Ferrari 330P4 (ch. 0858) at Le Mans 1967.
As always with such things, there may well be small detail changes.
Car is in the markings of the 1967 BOAC 1000 race at Brands Hatch.

Everyone who is a fan of Formula 1 is aware of the story of Senna driving quickly through the field on a damp Donington park circuit in 1993.
However, almost exactly 10 years before that, John Watson also drove from the back of the grid to a race win - in a 'classic' Marlboro coloured McLaren Ford.
I don't really collect F1 models, but when Raceland had a sale on this car about six months ago, I had to jump - even if it's a sealed resin Minichamps.

R.I.P. Stirling Moss.
Probably the greatest driver never to win the F1 world championship.
