Not sure if this is the right section.  Apparently you cannot post photos from Photobucket without upgrading.    Posting photos on a BB is called third party hosting.    Now my photos are being held hostage unless I pay 400 US a year!!!!   Idiots!!!!!   What are they thinking?  They are going to crash!

WE NOTICED THAT YOU HAVE BEEN USING
PHOTOBUCKET FOR 3RD PARTY HOSTING*

TO RESTORE YOUR 3RD PARTY HOSTED IMAGES,
PLEASE UPGRADE TO A PLUS 500 PLAN.

I've moved some of my pics to Flickr already, and fixed some of my links. But that's a lot of works and I've been very busy with my family during this long weekend too, so the recovery process has been very slow.

Can you really recommend flickr, guys? I want to be sure because I'm thinking about changing the site as phtoobucket is won't fast enough for me and it's annoying. What do you think about Google Photos?

My account still works, mind you I've not logged in in a long time, but my pics from it are still on here.

I will sort another provider out though as Photobucket was never the best.

F**k you Photobucket.

Please feel free to check out my 1/18 collection HERE

Holy shit. I pay $9.95 per month for my own web hosting and have an insane amount of bandwith to go with it. What in the world can they constitute as worthy of $400/yr for image hosting!?

I feel for you guys, that really sucks. If anyone wants to to do their own hosting thing I can point you in the right direction.

I too use Imgur, as I find it very easy to use (on desktop, not so much mobile) and it can be fun collecting fake internet points on the side :)

The only articles I have found about this..but I haven't found any official explanation as yet. Honestly though, when the dust settles from this and I finish dealing with the large task of re uploading the majority of my images (what I can and remember where they went). And while I know others are facing a far greater challenge with hundreds more images; I am not going to care about the reasons and move on.  Though apparently, you can't even download your own images off PB; I haven't tried yet, but apparently if you do you get the same gauge of doom...oye! were are car people gauges are supposed to get us excited lol.

So that's why so many threads are full of those random gauges today. Real shame when this happens.

I used to use Imageshack but they did something similar and I lost all my images. I use Flickr now. It's excellent and free. I hope they don't feel compelled to pull the same kind of crap anytime soon.

Colourkin - you can try right clicking on all your images and should be able to save to desktop. I did for the first couple pages and then lost interest. PB is a POS....and so are their owners. :duh: :duh: :duh:

Use Imgur! They're free and very lovely to deal with. No annoying ads or bandwidth bullshit to deal with using them. Plus a friend of mine works there so I can vouch for them being not bad. They allow full res uploads and such.
