Awesome diorama, and it indeed works well! The cars suit the diorama very well. :10:

Thanks RDynamic - much appreciated!! :danke:
And the best thing is that processing these daylight pictures was so easy-going - it took me not more than about 10 minutes each...

Thanks Darren!! :occasion14:
It is small but nice - smaller than half of a usual 1/18 display case.
And I‘m having much fun playing around with this new toy.
More to come...

Initially I didn't like the weathered dirty look of the Bluesmobile but this quick shooting changed my mind...

Back to the studio.

Hot Wheels is well known for cheap little budget model cars for children to play with and I guess most of us used to spend a lot of time playing with Hot Wheels and Match Box cars during our childhood.
However Hot Wheels is also producing collectibles in 1/64 since decades. There were and are different product lines like 100% Hot Wheels, Real Riders or RLC. (The latter stands for "Red Line Club" where members reguarly get offered limited special collector's items.) Typically those collector models have wheels with rubber tires, improved painting and details and sometimes opening parts too.

My next models are from a 2 car set called "Designer Dreamz 2" released back in 2000. It consists of a metallic red "Bizarro Cadillac" (fantasy custom '57 Cadillac) and a "Rocket Oil" truck in dark blue/white which also never existed in real life. Although being ~20 years old these model still dispaly well - enjoy the pics:

Mercedes SSKL - Mille Miglia winner 1931 driven by Rudolf Caracciola.
I have the model for more than 10 years now, so it was time to finally do some decent pictures of this splendid CMC model.

Enjoy the pics:

It was one of my first models and it’s a keeper for sure!
Sold out since years, but no limited production - they already have announced a re-release...

Yep - as said above: They have announced a re-release of the SSKL.
Also announced are new models of the SSK in black, red & white.

Even my wife loves the SSKL - especially the tiny tools in this wooden box on the co-driver's side...
This full white SSK is tempting me too - it seems to an exact replica of the car presented at the Daimler Museum in Stuttgart:

As to the pictures: Well spotted my friend! :occasion14:
I feel it's boring to repeat always the same set-up by just changing the subject model.
So I love trying this and that maybe by changing scenery, lighting, perspective or exploring new ways of photo editing.
And every model is different - so the challenge is to find out how to get the best picture out of it.
Meanwhile I have the impression that some models perform better when I add a bit more light to the scenery... :nice:

Next model is the Mille Miglia winner one year before (1930): The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS driven by "The Flying Mantuan" (Tazio Nuvolari) - model by CMC.

These grandpas of automobile racing may not have the same grace like for instance a Ferrari from the 60s. But they definitely have a charme of their very own. Hope the photos can visualize this...

Enjoy the pics (only 2 this time):
