I have had this car for years now, just sat on some foam in a Detolf for most of that time. Posted Image My initial problem with this truly great model were the wheels/tires, they are just too small. Also stance. So I tried removing the wheels (I was new to modding) with no luck, so I simply cut two off - completely destroying them - to test fit a set of metal BBR spoke wheels. Those were too big, and thats when I noticed that the problem was not the wheels, but the tires! Damn, so I just set the car aside and pretty much forgot about it. I bought a complete set of wheels and suspension from autoart spares a while ago, and today is the day. :)

I didnt take any pictures of mounting the front wheel because its so easy, you just open the bonnet and remove a few screws, slide the new piece on, put screws back in. This model is so high quality its actually not(!) overpriced at all. The way the front suspension looks and operates is porn, weirdly more so when you take it apart. The rear is nice too. I am used to work on crappy plastic one piece suspensions, this is old school Signature.

Surprising amount of screws holding the rear suspension. Actually, writing this I remembered I meant to fix the rear brakes, they should be mounted all the way ... uh ... in the middle on these, Autoart messed up and put them in the "normal" place. There are a few mistakes on these E-Types, mostly minor, but that one is pretty big. Future mod I guess. So its nice to know that access to the assembly is easy.

The only mod I am doing, I would rather call it an upgrade, The tire on the right is the stock one, too low profile, the one on the left is from the AUTOart E49 Charger. Quite a bit beefier and really makes me like the model a lot more.

A quick clean and I have a mint model that I kinda had written off and forgot about. So cool to have autoartspares, I have bought lots of cool stuff there, although I will say 45 freekin euros for these suspension parts is steep/robbery/painful. Obviously makes financially sense in this case, but still.

I will take some more pictures of the car on these bigger tires later. Posted Image

They do! :occasion14: Btw, this might be useful for several people at some point, because I think the springs are too soft on these, I bet they will sag over time, so it might be required to go in and fit new/stiffer springs. Mine hasnt even rested on its wheels at all and I think its too soft.

I agree, there too much weight on the rear axles causing an undesired camber
