CMR Ferrari 512S lowering?

Hello!  Anyone lowered a CMR Ferrari 512S short or long tail?  The short tail doesn't look too bad, but the long tail ride height is crazy.  I would assume it's just a case of ripping them off and gluing them back in their new position.
I've lowered all my Hot Wheels Ferrari 512Ss as they too suffered from excessive ride height.
I don't want to spend £90 on a resin model that looks so poor unless I know it's a straightforward fix.  I'd buy a Tecnomodel 512S but they're double the price or more!
