I don't know if anyone has seen this relatively new diecast magazine around yet? Its called CastHeads and is a really high quality digital publication - like really high quality!
You can download and read the first 3 issues from their website - https://castheadsmagazine.com/. Be aware there's a video on the homepage that will autoplay so make sure your volume is muted/down.

I'm also proud to say that I will hopefully be having my next review published in their upcoming issue in January hopefully - bit of a dream come true really!

Advertising and features as far as I'm aware. I don't know if you get Top Gear magazine, but this month there was an advert for DNA Collectibles (specifically the Peel P50 and Bond Bug as they had featured on the show). This was made by the guys behind CastHeads so I imagine that got them some extra cash.

I ask because I've seen so many interesting efforts (not all related to this hobby) fail because of poor funding considerations.
Case in point recently was MotorsportTV satellite channel, which was free to air.
Sadly now gone.

Thanks for the link. :danke:

Interesting publication, but they seem mostly focused on 1/64th scale at the moment. I'll be following them for sure, hoping they'll focus on larger scales in the future.

They had quite a bit of advertising going on between programmes, so I think that what killed the TV channel was lack of audience, or not enough to keep the sponsors happy.

They're a streaming service now (€3.50/month, €34.00/year).

Preview of the English edition #20 of the always excellent Automobilsport magazine.
https://www.sportfah...ENGLISH-EN.html
German language edition also available soon.
As a subscriber to the magazine since it's launch, I note both versions are to be available at the same time.
I think this represents the way that the 'international' edition has been elevated, as it used to take 3 extra weeks to appear.
If you are a fan of motorsport matters of the past, this is probably the best magazine on the market.

The latest issue of the Castheads Magazine I mentioned earlier has been published!
Very happy to say that my DNA Collectibles Rezvani Tank review is featured on the front cover and can be found on page 26.
There is also an article on page 72 featuring our very own David (DN'DLand)!

Congratulations on your item in the magazine.
Is it an English language magazine as published, or translated?
I'm surprised there are not too many reviews, and a lot of 'coming soon' items with no real insight.

Thanks! The guys who run the magazine are based in Sri Lanka and they're generally targeting the Asian collectors market. However, they seem to be pushing for a more worldwide audience after they've seen the kind of reach they've been getting. It's a solely English magazine as well.

I haven't read all of it yet tbh, but this is only their 4th issue and there has always been at least 1 review per issue so far. I'm hoping I'll be featured in future issues as well, but this issue is very much a start of 2019 overview it seems!

That Castheads magazine has a Sri Lankan and smaller scale (especially 1/64) focus, but by golly it's a nice relaxing change of pace to read it, and the latest issue has a detailed interview with our very own David Houston, currently read half-way through it. Kudos to the magazine founders!

+1 Some of the old Minichamps models were really top notch. It's a shame they've decided to cheapen up of late. :(

With any luck Minichamps have taken note of how Norev have continued producing fully opening models at acceptable prices.
I realise that Norev are not beyond sealed diecasts, but when they overhaul their old tooling and bring back some classics ....
Some day Minichamps will discover that the market is saturated with stuff that only sells when heavily discounted.
Even they must have noted the speed at which the Autoart Nissan DR30 silhouette sold out (even if it was rather expensive).

The next issue of CastHeads Magazine is now out here - https://online.fliph...com/klody/zzcc/
This is a special issue to celebrate their first year anniversary and a version of my review of the Ferrari J50 is inside. Its a real honour to be featured on the front cover and to have my work showcased in magazine form!

I'll soon be in a proper major diecast magazine....in physical print!

Thanks! They seem to focus on the Asian market, but they're increasingly seeing engagement from all around the world. You can see they work really hard on the design.

They definitely do. Personally I would be more interested in dedicated 1:18 or 1:12 magazines and not the other scales. But I can understand that the audience is not big enough for that.
Some people make really nice pictures of their models, I really like the outside pictures on tarmac.

:dunno: Isn't there a Die Cast X magazine? Quite tempted to get a printed copy from my bookstore for that but I usually end up only with Octane and Classic Cars only.
