I registered here quite some time ago, but I haven't posted much, as you can see.
I recently started collecting model cars again, after a long break. I really like JDM cars, and that's basically what I'm aiming my collection towards.
Since I'm a photographer too, I love to take pictures of the cars! And that's why I'm completely in love with Ignition Model, because their details are amazing, and the paintjob looks real.
My setup is basically the backside of a poster, taped to a shoebox so the background looks smooth and doesn't cast shadows.
I shoot with a 5D MKII with a 16-35mm on 35mm, I shoot on F/22.0, and between 1,5-4,2 seconds shutter time, and ISO 50.
Then I use my LED light stick to "paint" or "shower" the cars in light, while the shutter is open. It makes for a ton of possibilities.
Even though it's just a single light source, you have plenty of time to play around and get different results, even just with 2,5 seconds shutter time.
You can see a picture of my "studio" below!
I hope you like the pictures
