What a beautiful car!
So much better than the new Ferrari.
It looks to be inspired by the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 and the Ferrari P4/5.

Amazing design inspired by the 60's race cars, what a beauty....

And the chassis is just a work of art

Quite the machine :omg: Finally a car which isn't all about wind tunnels and airflow ducts all over the place. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it just took car desing to more function first than form, while this one seems the opposite :drool5:

Agree, beautiful car and the interior is beautifully crafted too, like Pagani interiors. I can defo see P4/5 in it as you mentioned. Lovely

Saw it action on the Goodwood stream... This thing has all the potential to be an all-time classic even if it feels like it's coming from the 80s :drool5: So beautiful on the move and in real light :omg:

i already kind of like it, most new cars looks very too super-hyper. the interior reminds me of Pagani.

The car shown appears to be right hand drive.
I like that it's an old style traditional manual gearbox, but that gearknob.......   :duh:

My only doubt so far is the long overhang at the rear and the front. Makes it like the XJ220.

there's a lot there to like and admire, and it's a work of art, for sure... gotta say, it's not pressing any buttons for me though. I too see echos of the Jag XJ220 (which, to my eyes, was an horrendous looking whale of a car - sorry folks!)

It is stunning but who is DeTamaso nowadays? Did they change hands or just lay dormant?

That is a stunning looking car and would look great in scale model form!
I think I read that Jim Glickenhaus was pissed that it looks so similar to his P4/5?

Just in comparison with the new Corvette (don't want to open a new thread for the Corvette)

In my opinion a good design should have continuous lines, especially from the side view. Now look at the Corvette, where does that side air intake line go to? Going upwards and suddenly stops... what was the designer thinking? Too many forced lines...

I agree, I think it’s an opportunity missed..... it’s almost like the asked their top 5 designers to do a mid engined vette, put them all in different rooms and then pieced the bits together

Both the C8 Corvette and the De Tomaso are huge opportunities missed.

The C8 is just terribly proportioned. I understand that GM wanted to reconcile a mid-engined layout with some degree of practicality, but Porsche has done this much more successfully with their Cayman/Boxster. The details on the C8 all seem like afterthoughts and the end product is simply a generic mid 2000s supercar cliche with some Corvette elements.

The De Tomaso might have looked good 50-60 years ago but it simply does not cut it in the context of modern day cars IMO. It's simply a hodgepodge of rounded volumes, lazy curves, generic shapes and uninteresting surfaces. There's nothing novel nor thought provoking about the design. No notion of tension or speed. Awkward surface changes and not much attention to detail beyond the superficial. I can understand its nostalgic appeal but beyond that not much going for it from an aesthetic standpoint, IMO.
