I just added the 1:18 Norev Gold GTI Mk3 to my collection. This is the rarer Red version of the 20th Anniversary Mk3 GTI. I had the Mk3 Violet VR6 but I ended up selling that one to get this.
There isn't anything super special with the 1:18, but just a well rounded model overall. Kind of reminded me of the old UT Models. I'm glad Norev picked this wheel and color combo for the GTI Mk3. The interior is very well done, carpeted with the correct seat 20th anniversary upholstery pattern. If there are negatives, I would say the engine details are a little sparse (unfortunately) and the car sits a little to low (has that lowered look).

I had my old 1:18 garage set that I have not touched in a while, so I dust them off and used them in these indoor photoshoot (yes indoor as it's already start snowing here in Michigan). So here are some of the pictures I took earlier:

Given how popular these are here even today, it's like looking out of the window :giggle:

:occasion14: Nice!
Unfortunately I live in the rust belt (i.e. midwest USA), meaning a well maintained older GTI are really scarce.

Well, it's the same here. Most are just fake GTI-badget rust buckets, but they are by the thousands, lol. If they looked as good as your model, we'd probably be considered the Golf capital of the world :giggle:

And yes I love this generation GTI in red! Glad I found this one.

I've got this in Violet with the VR6 engine but ended up selling it to get this one. The red is a bit rarer to find, but they're out there. I actually considered the black but ended up going with red because I love the color contrast between the matte black trims and the glossy red.

that does look very good indeed. Tempted to hunt for one largely because they were mega popular here too. And I like the wheels on it. Nice pics too, mate :)

One note though: I was looking for a way to slightly increase the ride height. Ideas?
