I don't know if this is the proper DX section but I found something cool on Facebook. I was going through some Facebook posts when I suddenly bumped into this page:

https://www.facebook.com/flipdiorama/

Seems that even people like me (who are not that handy in building their own diorama) can now have a cool diorama without going through the long process of building one yourself.

Price of their first release is 79 euros, now let's wait how the 10 designs will turn out!

The price is very fair. I'm definitely interested.

I will reserve judgement until we see some non photoshopped pictures. The very low price makes me think its cardboard/printed on foamboard with accessories?

Their website seems to be live now. I have to say the pictures of all the different versions look very promising. Did anyone order one yet?

According to their site, it seems they are: "Full color 1440 DPI printed on high quality cardboard 1.5mm thick".

I might eventually get one that has dimensions that fit my shelves. It could be a nice way to spice the display up.
I'll be back

I have ordered the cheapest one. If the real thing turns out to be great I may buy another one in the future.

Its a pretty good idea, although it has to be kept simple like concrete and stuff, because in my opinion brick pattern look awful/unrealistic in 2D. Looking forward to seeing some normal shots of them. Seems to be mostly sold out.

I'm also very curious to see some non-embelished photos or videos of that dio.

I'm hoping that, quality wise, the real deal won't look as flat as this:

They made a video of the production. That's a different printer than I got at home  :giggle:

Quite serious equipment, I wonder what they are like in person.

For someone like me, who has zero skill to create anything even remotely close to that from scratch, it looks good enough.

But I have to say, the light fittings and wiring are a bit of a let down tbh. The staircase looks great though. almost like real metal.

I like these, can see myself buying one in the near future. Hoping to move house soon and can have a specific display area for my collection and this would be an nice way of mixing it up abit

Just got my 'Block 72' diorama, very pleased with it

Quick edited pic with my FC2000, the dio definitely suits dark lighting but I'm sure I can make brighter lighting work if I play around enough

Uneditied pic of the full thing with model for sense of scale
