As a kid growing up in the 80's, the Mercedes W126 S-Class always caught me in awe when I see one on TV being used by either head of states or the villains. So I was very happy when Otto decided to release the top-of-the-line W126 '560SEL' in the AMG rendition. The 1:18 car itself isn't that spectacular if I can be honest, but with the subject matter so cool I just have to add one to my collection :yahoo:

Black suits this W126 PERFECTLY especially with the AMG body kit as the dark color subdued this car quite a bit, otherwise it may be kind of too 'loud'.
I snapped some pictures with the younger V222 S560 generation. It's just cool to see these '560' S-classes generations 30 years apart.

Bravo Stefanus! I'm waiting to get mine as well! :yahoo:
So, ironically, when I was a kid, a family friend of my mom's had this car, he was a doctor. His was black just like this..I had always loved the W126, but after seeing his car, I was amazed with it how "Miami Vice" gangster it looked :drool5:  My immediate family were mostly car nuts, so that machine got some attention sitting in our driveway.  So,it's really nice to see this replicated in 1/18th scale. :eusa_clap: It's just amazing that Otto is hitting all of the hot cars that were so dear to my formative years!! :nice: CONGRATS & CHEERS!!! :occasion14:

Yea, this totally reminds me of Miami Vice! :nice:
Also this is the 1st time I ordered direct from Otto versus waiting for it to be available from dealer. So far it was a smooth transaction and shipment!

Here's a curious thing. If a new S-Class rolls by, I'm 'm'eh'.

If a W126 rolls by, I'm scared... The Mafia is here.

Why is that? Is it the upright, almost solider-standing-to-attention like frame the W126 has? There is an imperious design formality to the W123, W124, W201 and W126, that says 'Boss' in a way that newer, casual-looking Cs, Es and Sonder Klasse Mercs lack.

There must be a design reason why older Mercs are slightly intimidating, no-nonsense, cars, while the newer ones look a bit... wet.

Ha haaa yes I know exactly what you're saying.
The older benzes just have such presence that its newer generation lacks.

New S-Class is like: 'ok, well let's sit down and discuss things between us over a latte, as we ponder our inner being.'

Old S-Class: I win. Drives off.

(sorry - I forgot to say that your pics of the W126 are really, really good. Thanks for sharing them :-))
