Welcome to the 5th DiecastXchange Model Car Tuning Contest.

The DX Staff and I welcome you to the 5th Tuning Contest of this forum.

This contest is to see what you guys can put together, to compete to others, its not about winning! But is for us all to have a little fun.
All Contestants will be running against each other, to have one clean simple overview.

The rules are going to be the same as last years https://www.diecastx...tuning-contest/ please use these as a guide to this years, The rules will be posted in the coming days, also the dates for the contest.

So please start thinking about a model that you would like to enter in this years contest now, if you do want to enter then just reply below saying that you would like to take part, you do not need to post the model or what you are going to be doing to the model yet.

I would like to address a couple of things, a few members contacted me during last years contest, they lost interest due to the length of time the contest ran for and that a shorter time limit would be better, so to achieve this, the cut off for entries will be much closer to the completion date, the overall time limit cannot be reduced due to the time some of the models take to create and this would no doubt impact what level of modification can be achieved, so there will be a self imposed shorter time for members who wish to condense their build into a shorter timescale.

Hopefully the contests over the last few years have maybe encouraged members to tune or modify models but feel that they do not have the skills or resources to compete so I am proposing next year 2021 (the 6th contest) to run two contests, this current tuner contest will evolve into the Unlimited Contest where anything can be done to the model and the Tuner Contest where only limited modifications are allowed to be done under very strict rules, this is likely to be things like a color change, wheel change and a spoiler as well as decals added, this is NOT a final list!

This proposed change is being announced now to be fair to everyone and this is proposed to be for next years contest/s.

Sounds good having the 2 classes for different abilities and level of customization, hopefully this will bring more entries to the competition overall.

Oh, and I'm in again for this year. Model will be announced shortly. Cheers

Cool Rob.

The Two classes will be next year, that is the plan, however if there is enough interest for it to happen this year it will get sorted out for later on in the year.

If I had HALF the skill as some of you here, I would join. There is so much I would love to do to improve and personalize my models if only I knew how. Know matter what is done on this contest, it is all positive and great to see.

Best of luck to those who join, and for everyone else, I hope you enjoy seeing the results.
