I don't know what took me so long to pull the trigger on LCD's Range Rover Velar, but I'm glad I finally got one! Part of my decision is influenced by DND-Land (Dave's) review of this car (you can search it in this forum). I wanted to get the Brown / Gold color at first but then decided on Black as I really like the subtleness of the dark colored Velar versus a lighter colored. Let me tell you, THIS is probably the BEST model under $100! First and foremost for this price, it's a full-opening diecast. It has really premium feel to it. The body panels alignment are really good and the paint quality is flawless. This is actually a metallic black with very subtle sparkles. The stance and scaling looks to be on spot too.

So LCD chose to do the P380 HSE Dynamics versions and I really like the orange accents against the black car. The interior is all-black and although I wish they would done the 2-toned version, but the plastic sheen and interior craftsmanship  truly rivals the $200 AutoArt. The dashboard and seats looks like they're made of real leather! Really really well done here! The hood and hatch opening mechanism is replicated well from the 1:1 and the opening fuel filler door is just awesome.

I am truly glad companies like LCD exist! This hopefully will force a more established diecast companies to rethink their strategies in terms of build quality and pricing.

Here are some indoor photo shoot I did earlier. I also sneaked in an old Defender 90 in this pics for a fun comparison between these 2 Rovers of the opposite ends of the spectrum.

I have also bought a Velar months ago, but never had a chance to post it here due to family commitments.

I agree that this is the value leader of the under $100 category.

Please post them when you get a chance... I would love to see the the Brown Velar here in DX :drool5:
Dave reviewed the grey one, and I got the black one (along with another DX member I didn't remember who).

First of all CONGRATS on adding this black beauty Stefanus!!!!! :eusa_clap:
Next, the California plates looks right at home on a black Range Rover..so SoCal man!! :yahoo:
Also, this model reminds me of what AUTOart used to be so hard. More than any other brands it screams improved old school AUTOart and better yet the original under $100 bucks USD makes it a true bargain in the current world of diecasts. :twocents: LCD really is a a hero to many new collectors with those regards
Loving more or the interior shots, especially the hardwood like flooring against the deep rich color contrasting the background :occasion14:

Yes LCD is the emerging new hero for us diecast collector. Such a good value. If someone branded it as AutoArt for $200 it would be credible!

And YOUR review made me pulled the trigger!

Who do you think will be next after LCD that'll be the new value-leader for $100 range?
We already have Paudi but for the price I think LCD is a notch above Paudi in terms of build quality.

But back to the LCD Velar, man I'm glad I got one! :occasion14:

I almost went for the brown as well but decided to get black at the last minute. I kinda like the stealthy look. But I have to admit the Brown car give it more visual presence compared to the darker colors.
