There is this old unnamed undated photo presumably featured on Ferrari catalogue back in the days which I found on the internet years ago.. I used this photo as my PC's wallpaper for quite some time. Earlier today I came to realisation that i actually have almost all the identical models which I could try to pose just like in the photo....

My quick attempt to mimic the above photo.. LOL. I did realise that some of the models on the photo are from different MY or model range... I am fairly sure it is a Ferrari 400i but the closest one I have is the KK-scale Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2. And the Testarossa I have is the 89 model year and not the one with high mount rear view mirror from 84. And i only realised that the Mondial in my photo is the Mondial 8 after i took the photos. I have the 3.2 which features the same front as the Cabrio version but it is in blue so it probably not going look right in the group shot.

And while i am at it... I took some more photos of them. Hope you like these...

Got to love these 1:1 photo recreations! The Mondial 8 seems to be quite a rare model I don't usually see, unlike the 308/328 and Testarossa.

love what you've done there, Jazzy! You pretty much nailed the 1:1 pic with yours. I think by the time the pic was taken, the 1:1 400i had become the 412i (i *think*)

great Ferrari collection. Oh yes. :)

I love models from one brand having the same color!
Beautiful models especially the relatively rare 328GTS and the testarossa!
Is it the high end Kyosho testarossa?
Feel free to have a look of my collection on DX.

Thanks guys. I love these angular wedge shaped Ferraris from the 70s/80s era.

Rare as in being 1/18 model? If so I think they can still be found on eBay me think in fact they don't seem to go for a lot money due to lack of general interest i presume. You are definitely right about the 308 and Testarossa being the poster child of Ferrari back in the days. And Magnum PI and Miami Vice definitely helped with the popularity.

Thanks Scud. Yea I think you might be right that could be the 412i. I'll be delighted to see a 412i in 1/18 and it shouldn't be all that hard for KK-scale to make one based off the 365 GT4 2+2 mould? I picked up a cheap 412i in 1/43 form by HWE last year.

Thanks. You have sharp eyes how can you tell the TS is the high end version? Is there any tell tale sign? I actually didnt mind the non high end version but they were long sold out and the high end version just hit the market at that time. There were issues with the high end batch though, many of them came with slightly misaligned panels and my copy has one side of bonnet which doesnt sit flush when closed. :gaah:
