Here is a another 1:18 release of a ‘daily driver’: The Genesis G80 3.3T Sport by Minikraft. There were previous releases of this car under the Hyundai badge (G380) and the G80 non-sport package. They were very good but rare. So I am glad Minikraft decided to release the G80 in the Sport package! And I found one at a reasonable price, so I pulled the trigger and got it.  :yahoo:

I went back and forth several time deciding on the color but eventually go with White. I have to say white suits this car really good! It really shows the luxury side of the car and the sport package (wheels and fascia) adds just the right amount of visual splash.

The build quality and level of details are quite good, maybe comparable to the 2012-ish Kyosho. The proportion is correct and if you look closely, they replicated the Copper-colored accents inside the headlight housing, grilles, and center-caps. Just elevating the realism another notch here. Interior wise I love the carbon fiber application on the trims.

That being said, the panel alignments and gap can be slightly improved (BUT I am VERY picky when it comes to panel alignment).
Also I am planning to lower the ride height slightly (kinda looks a little tip-toeing if you see it in person). But the positives definitely outweigh the negatives, so if you can find one at a decent price, I would recommend it!

But above all, this is a full opening diecast, which is a treat nowadays! :occasion14:
Also FYI – The Covid-19 delay doesn’t seem to affect DHL shipment from China to USA by much. I got this car in 6 days, which isn’t bad at all!

Here are some quick outdoor pics I took earlier of this G80. Hope you like them!

Love the G80 like this. Very impressive car. The model looks good too. I have/had a MiniKraft Hyundai Genesis. It was insane, the details. I imagine not much has changed.

Congrats, very cool model.

Congrats Stefanus!! :eusa_clap:  I decided to wait on this one.. There are some really neat details on it.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks lowered, it really does need it on this one. :yahoo:

Thanks! I agree the 1:1 looks very good (saw one exactly this configuration last week on the road and it was a head turner!) and the 1:18 is well made!

Thanks Dave!! :occasion14:
I have not been looking at it very closely to see how easy it is to disassemble, but I'm hoping the lowering won't be a major job.
