Got this earlier this year and never bothered to make a topic till now for some odd reason. Still needs the Rothmans decals to be applied though...

I've got one of these too, I love it for several reasons, 1, it's a Porsche, 2, it's a flippin 959 Paris Dakar rally winner!!!

F**k you Photobucket.

Those are the cars I can't explain, why they weren't made in open diecast :gaah:, specially for the racing history & pedigree. That 959 was a road going lab! Beautiful model!

Agree 100% with this, a perfect subject for a model but especially a detailed opening version.

Itís so absurd. Thatís what made it so great. I have the 961 version and need to apply the Rothmans decals as well.

The whole story behind these 959 Dakar cars can be read in this excellent magazine.

I'm with you on that. An opening one would be very welcomed!

I know Craig. That was one I wasnít taking a chance on. I bought it as soon as it showed up in stock. Iím so glad they released that livery in addition to the white liveried one. The white one doesnít do it justice.

Although it breaks my rule of no cars with 3 digits. I only have that and a McLaren GT3 that go against that rule.

Thanks :yahoo:
I am also surprised no one has made an opening version of this rather notable car, let alone it taking so long for even a resin one to come out. :icon_scratch:
And I regret not getting the Rothmans 961, as I only have the plain white livery. Might have to do a 959 group shot soon...

Nice model.
I think a little undervalued, because it's an iconic car, great livery, important race (Dakar was it in 80s), and a good model, with good details, even if closed.

I have a little pedantic question.
Here you can see a red hook on the front, just above the turn light.
https://www.tsm-mode...key=130&pd=1396
But I see many pictures without it.

When I bought mine, some year ago, the model didn't have it.
I asked the seller, he sent me one, and I put on the model.

Should it have it, or not?
