Today I received a tri blade screwdriver ordered from China at the beginning on April.
However, it was one piece of an order for four such screwdrivers.
Two arrived within a month, the third arrived around a month ago.
I had thought that the last of the four had disappered into a black hole - which happened before with an LED light bulb.
Why the sender didn't put all of the items into one bag is a mystery, the total shipment cost was around €10.
I'm also awaiting some decals ordered 6 weeks ago from Australia, and was worried about the delay.
Now I feel more comfortable that the package will eventually show up.
Anyone want to try beat a delay of 11 weeks?

LoL! That's not that bad at all!! .. I'm still waiting for packages from China, Austria, Portugal and Romania.

The orders for the Chinese packages were placed in February!... This is week 19 since then. :giggle:
The latest order I placed was for a package from Romania in April... This is week 9 since then.

in February i bought some stuff for RC transmitter, it arrived at the start of May. so yeah, delays are definitely going on.
but i would also say it is an good idea to take some extra precaution against scams.

I had a garage flooring mat (80kg package) delayed a month and a half at the local UPS warehouse despite many follow-up. Probably lost. Today I finally threw the towel and asked the seller for a refund, let them deal with it.

And I also have a model stucked at a USPS depot in Florida for quite some time...

I pay for Air Shipping for all my models coming from Europe or Asia. 8 Weeks last year was agonizing last year on a model. He meant to ship air but checked off the surface shipping option on the waybill.

I posted a model car to an eBay buyer in March, after numerous requests for information from him, I raised a case with Australia Post and finally got someone competent on the phone who told me the model hasn't even left Australia as yet! It's been held in a storage area at the airport waiting for Australia Post to arrange alternative means of freight since most of the airlines to Europe has halted.

I've sent models after this particular one to the U.S and Asia and they arrived after some expected delay. This is the only one that is in limbo.

I had a few parcels coming in from China in last couple of months and I expected long delays before hand so didn't pay too much attention to the timeline. My own experience tells me to expect up to 2 months delays. Domestic delivery is affected as well but isn't as bad. Probably couple days more for inter state deliveries. The latest one was some RCA joiners i ordered last wednesday. Of all sellers I picked one that is just 2 suburbs away from me but still took almost a week to make delivery. In all fairness he might have posted it on 2 days later but I can definitely see the current situation has impacted just about everything doesn't matter if it is domestic or international.

I bought a 1/43 model from a vendor in China earlier this month, and it was shipped via FedEx and arrived 3 days later.

Bought something in the UK in April, it still hasn't come! Seller promised to send it twice and now says they'll send it at the start of July. No thanks! I want my money back.

The Post Offices here never closed down, so I don't see why people can't just send out what they sell!
I'm not interested in their crappy excuses and life stories, just send the stuff out!

F**k you Photobucket.

FedEx is one of the very rare delivery service that remained in a ‘business as usual’ mode all this time.

I just wish other vendors had accounts with them, and wonder why more don't switch (at least for now).  I have two groups of high-value packages stranded in Japan because EMS isn't operating.  They are very quick - when they are operating.  One of the vendors also uses DHL, but they always take a long time (been waiting over a month for a model from Germany).

CK still refuses to ship my package to Canada.

And Top Marques simply said "we are sorry" when I asked them about the F40 delay when every other retailers already have it in stock. Ridiculous.

Last week, I won a model on eBay, and it arrived from Texas to here in Northern California in 3 days.  So at least USPS within the US seems to be getting better.
But other orders that I've made, from England and Germany, sat in customs for over a month... one still right now, the last update was May 21.  One that I ordered on May 8, from Modelissimo, arrived just this morning.  I don't know if it's slower than usual though, because this isn't the first time that DHL and/or customs has sat on my package for over a month.

I think the problem with CK is that they use DHL parcel (Canada Post final courier within Canada) and not DHL Express. They only have a single ship option I noticed testing some cars in their shopping cart system the other day.  Robert at Scuderia Modelli of Germany told me during COVID-19  that he has both DHL options normally but can only ship with the Express version option to Canada like BBR does for me which is the 2 or 3 days option.

Now I am not sure if CK is just refusing to ship for other reasons but they should be using another option if they know they can't use DHL parcel service to Canada. Any other Air Parcel service from other Euro sellers or China/Hong Kong sellers have been fine so far for me during this time.

Ah good and painful to know. My order from the first of April with CK is still held.  They must have some sort of deal or reason to only use the parcel option.

From the Dhl Parcel website.. "Items (i.e., letters, small packages, Warenpost items and parcels) can generally be sent to Canada.
Until further notice, parcels will be transported to Canada by ocean freight only due to very limited transport capacities. Customers should not specify "Premium" parcel service and expect significantly longer transit times."

A bit contradictory to be honest.

as a seller also located in Germany, i can confirm this, small stuff is being transported via air, big packages via ship with DHL. DHL express is hella expensive unless you have a good account with them, as CK doesn't offer express, i guess they just dont have an account or don't want to bother with the hassle.

I also use UPS, not a single problem in the past months, everything arrived as usual, and often even cheaper than DHL internationally. Makes no sense but hey if its faster and cheaper, i will defiantly take that.

I already knew what the issue was, I'm just playing the waiting game now and pray that postal service will be back to normal soon.

I've just remembered a set of my decals sitting in Hobby Link Japan.
Instead of around five Euro to send them by Japan post the only option is with Fedex - €35!
I'm at a loss to understand why a small paper envelope weighing less than 10 grams is a covid19 security problem.
A similar order from Hong Kong had to travel by surface, but at least it's on its way.....
