Yeah Make Up are resin, along the lines of BBR or MR collection, but more expensive.

Get in contact with Rob of carmodelz.com tell him you're off of here and he'll give you a bit of a discount. I think it's 7%

F**k you Photobucket.

Nick, I have a few Make Up models and the quality is good. Unfortunately Rob from Carmodelz is no longer selling them and also Unusual43 in Singapore is no longer selling them either, seems they are very hard to deal with and don't sell well, so alot of sellers are dropping them.

NewAce in Hong Kong still sells them and Rare118 but I think his prices are too high

I have sent an email to carmodelz, but if they don't sell them anymore, than I have a little problem.
I saw your LP400 and it looks very nice.
Rare118 asks 339 euro. I don't know if that is too high or not.
I'll see what is possible. There are not a lot alternatives for a Countach 400S in that quality range.
Thanks for the information, Rob! :occasion14:

It's a shame Rob no longer sells them.

You could give HYC Models here in the UK a try, stu72 on here buys his from them. He says they're a great supplier.

Also you can try Japanese hobby sites like AmiAmi.com or Yahoo Japan, I'm sure they list Make Up models. I remember I had this problem when I was looking for the Skyline GT-R Nur from Make-Up but couldn't find anyone retailing them. I got lucky on AmiAmi and can vouch that the transaction was good.
Make-up models also always tend to show up on eBay after their release, but you do see higher asking prices since most of the sellers are from Japan.

I have sent an email to hycmodels. Thanks for the tips. The problem for me in Belgium, for items from Asia and US, are shipping costs and import taxes. They are way too high. Youíre lucky that you live in Australia ;-)
And Rob of Carmodelz sent me back that they donít deal with them anymore, like (our) Rob said.

Except for their limited editions which tend to sell out before release, you can generally buy models directly off their site.

I haven't bought any of their 1/18 models, but all my 1/43 scale models are now MakeUp.  After amassing and then selling a large BBR collection I think the quality of MakeUp is superior.

The Make Up 1/43 models are killer! If I went that route I'd definitely have no money at all.

F**k you Photobucket.

Definitely consider the green one, as my brother recently sent me the following photos of a 1/1 recently restored in Australia. An unusual combination but stunning IMO

For the ones who are interested, I had contact with HYCmodels.
The price will be approx. €200 (without shipping).

If it's that sort of price it will be one of their "lesser" sub branded models, probably part of their IDEA range. Like how Tecnomodel have their normal range & their Mythos range which is costs lot less :twocents:

It is pretty cheap, but I'll give it a try. The image above tells 1/18, and the colors don't match either. But if I put the Japanese text in google translate I get this.
This is the "Lamborghini Countach LP400S 1980 Rear Wing" produced as a 1/43 scale handmade model car of "IEIDOLON".
So my Japanese is not that good, so I'm a bit confused... :dunno:

Is that definitely the price for the 1/18?
They're making the countach in both scales, but the 1/18 retail price according to Make Up's site seems to be priced closer to 270. I just checked what I paid for the IDEA Skyline I bought (same sub-brand) and it was about the same ~ €270 / $300 USD

Well I don't know for sure. I have asked it again to confirm. He talked about a discount to, so I can give you probably more information tomorrow. And you're happy with the quality of your Skyline? :occasion14:

Yeah please let us know once you confirm the price.
I'm happy with the IDEA Skyline GT-R Nur. It was my first model from this brand, and as Craig mentioned these are released under their "IDEA" sub-brand, so they're priced lower than their flagship "Make-Up" release. The Make-Up models have all the bells and whistles and from the photos I've seen are really high end (lots more details, premium packaging etc). The IDEA line is quite good for the price, you won't be disappointed.

What I do know now, the price for the 1/43 version is approx. €200, and some colors are limited to 30 pieces. For the 1:18's it will be something like you said. (€270). I emailed Makeup to know if there are limited pieces for the 1:18s, but no answer until now.
