Hey guys! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm from the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) area. For those who aren't familiar with that term, it just means someone who lives in proximity to D.C. I live about 30-45 minutes from D.C. in Maryland. I've had a 1986 Mustang GT, 1989 LX that ran a best of 10.61 in the 1/4 mile, 1999 GT single turbo with an 03' Cobra IRS, TKO600 trans, sumped tank, return fuel set-up, A1000 pump, Livernois custom grind turbo cams, Garrett 67mm turbo. It made 670 RWHP on E85. My latest car was my DD that I bought new. A 2013 Subaru WRX, it had what would be considered a Stage 2 mods and made 308/339 AWHP. I never wanted anymore power than that as it was my DD and I used it to go back and forth to Ohio and MD, an 800 mile round trip when I was in college. Unfortunately early this June I was driving during a downpour and the car hydroplaned and slammed the front end into a pole. I fractured my sternum and had bruising all over my right leg and arm which I couldn't lift up all the way even though it wasn't physically injured.

Anyways, i'm on the look now that i'm recovered from my injuries for a new car. I'm looking for a 2011-2014 5.0 Mustang, 2011-2014 STi, 2015-2018 STi, or possibly a first gen. Cadillac CTS-V and a Fox Body or a 04-07 WRX Wagon. I would love to have an 05/06 Saab 9-2x Aero, which is basically a WRX Wagon with Saab badges (it was made in the Subaru factory-Fuji Heavy Industries) and was fine tuned suspension wise. It also had a nicer interior, but since not many people bought them, not many are around, and the ones that are for sale have a ton of miles.

That's about my actual car history. As for diecast models, i've been into them ever since I was a little kid. I remember my parent's buying me Maisto 1:18 scale models at Sam's Club when I was about 10, maybe 11 years old. My best friend was also a car guy and loved diecast cars too, so he would often come over to my house and he would bring cars his parents bought him and we'd play like kids would before the internet was prevalent.

Move to now, i'm 32. I like to modify diecast cars the most and Maisto models are great since the are basically interchangeable on anything and they are the best bang for your buck IMO. Even if the axles are too long, I can cut them and they'll still fit, but the offset may not always be correct. I have everything though, from GMP/Acme, ERTL/American Muscle, Auto Art, the original Auto Art -UT models, Burago, Welly, Hot Wheels, Yat Ming, and more. I've never owned any GTspirit models though, since they are crazy expensive and for the money i'd rather just buy a GMP model, although I understand they don't make cars like a Porsche 911 GT3.

Well, thats me, sorry for being so wordy. I joined because I had a question about a Burago stamp I found on my Maisto 2009 GTR.

Thank you! I am, fully able to walk and able to cough and sneeze. I know that last part may sound funny, but if anyone has ever fractured their sternum, they know coughing and most especially sneezing feels like a shotgun blast to your chest. It's most incredibly painful. I really like how there are people from all around the world on this forum interested in diecast vehicles, such a cool thing! My local Sam's Club just got a shipment of Maisto 1:18 scale models and they're still only $14.99. I'm definitely going to buy quite a few and practice modifying a bunch. I've looked through some of the guys modified diecast cars and wow! They look almost factory made they are so good and have so much attention to detail. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Which kind of modifications are you doing to your Maistos?
Do you have pictures of your collection and/or your mods?

I will try to find some pictures. I've sold off some of my more valuable ones, but I still have quite a few. I usually like to do wheel/engine swaps and modify the exhausts. I am pretty new to modifying 1:18 diecasts, I consider myself to be very very well-seasoned in 1:24 scale models as i've built well over 100+, but diecasts i'm just getting the hang of.

Thanks!

I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow and post them in the 1:18 section. I thought I had some in my Imgur account, but it's mostly of my for sale cars and a few GMPs I have. My actual collection is mostly GMP/Acme muscle cars and I have some of the more rare original GMPs that I feel were of better quality before Greenlight bought GMP molds. I have both 1989 Mustang LX Drag cars in Burgundy & Orange, also have the rare 1985 drag Dark Horse model. The problem is most of my collection is spread from my room, basement, and garage. So i'll try to get some pictures of everything for you guys. Also in my master bathroom is being renovated, so there is a giant plastic sheet over the entire room, so it's hard to get clear pictures.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'll be looking to get into another WRX/STi or a 5.0 Mustang soon enough. Also, I have quite a few 1:24 models I built that i'll be selling once this darn remodel of my master bathroom is done. Right now my entire room is completely covered with plastic sheeting to protect it from all the dust the contractors make when they work. So that's supposed to be done in a few weeks, but it was already supposed to be done a few weeks ago multiple times. Once it's actually done and I sell off a bunch off my models, I plan to buy a GT Spirit Shelby GT350R, a few different GD AUTOart WRX/STis, and a GMP 1985 Mustang GT.
