Guys, I bought this HWE Ferrari 410 Superamerica Series II but can't find a second example like this on the internet. Is it a unicorn or a customized one?

Please see my pictures below.

HWE made two types of 410 Superamerica: Series I and Series II

HWE T6248 - all burgundy/beige interior - s/n 0491SA Series I (1956) car (except for the wing mirror)
Posted Image
HWE T6250 - gold and burgundy/burgundy interior - s/n 0501SA Series I (1956) car
Posted Image

HWE N2048 - silver/black - Series II (1957) "fantasy" car, there is no real Series II car with this paint scheme (only 5 of them built)
Posted Image

HWE N2049 - all black/burgundy interior - s/n 0713SA Series II (1957) car

HWSE N2082 - burgundy/black - Series II (1957) "fantasy" car, there is no real Series II car with this paint scheme (only 5 of them built)

Mine seems to be Series II based on the bumpers, front window wipers and the presence of the rear window wipers, but has these differences:
- all red exterior
- trunk has a Ferrari logo (rather large), but no Pininfarina flags
- Pininfarina flags on the side (next to the vents) are rather big
- the engine lid dog legs are red, all other Elite 410 have black dog legs.
- the box says T6248, but I'm not sure whether it's its orignal box.

So what is this model? Many thanks!

Just to be complete. Here are the foundation models (so not Elite):

Series I:

It seems that there is no Foundation Series II model.

The only one which is similar to mine is this one from https://minotaurus.p...t-wheels-118-2/
The owner said he modified it based on a Foundation red one + parts from Elite.
Also he has the Pininfarina flags at the trunck, mine doesn't.

Only thing I can think of is a Tremonia photo etch transkit. I bought them for my 333SP and the Lusso. They're not in production anymore I think so it's hard to determine whether they ever made one for the 410. But yeah otherwise they're just parts taken from other models like the guy says
I mod stuff

Yep, Model Code T6248 comes up as a Dark Red / Bordeaux car.

So it's not in the original box.

F**k you Photobucket.

Looking at your model, it seems that it has been re painted as some areas don't look perfect (to me anyway) so it could be a respray with a different colour or re painted interior.

On your photos, the logos look like waterslide decals. Either the original PE logos must have fallen off, or pulled off due to carelessness, then the owner used cheap waterslide as replacement.

Could be a combination of a repaint and and some modding with Elite parts like the minotaurus sample...?
The non-matching box seems to be a strong hint that it is rather a modified model than a unicorn from HWE, I'm afraid.

Many thanks guys. I have never owned a repainted model myself, so it's hard for me to determine if that's the case.
I thought maybe it's a prototype from HWE, or some unknown limited series like the blue 456M.
In any case, although I like all my ferrari models to have the same color = red, this one I think unfortunately is a fantasy color as a 1:1 410 Superamerica series II in this color doesn't exist. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Congrats on getting this lesser known HWE classic Ferrari. I always get confused between the subtle differences among the different series. I only have the silver foundation model and won't mind both series 1 and 2 Elites but they are bit hard to come by nowadays.

Not sure what is yours exactly but in this shade of red it is a fantasy color for sure. Only the black series II would be historically correct as you mentioned. I have the silver/black series II which for me is a very nice color combo even if s/n 0713SA was never painted like this.
