I think I'd want an EMI one or one of the BMW cars with the flags on, myself.

Is there some special reason there's a sudden spate of new F1s?

M.

Just guessing maybe because 20 years ago (1993) the F1 was presented to the world...and that's where all the story began. Besides this model will always be a good seller! In my personal case it's my favourite car ever!

Don't really like this shape F1

Blasphemy!

:giggle:  well said man! Short tail or long tail, the F1 is an icon. I really like both, personally the F1 GTR longtail seems more agressive design, and lookout how many cars after are inspired in it's design lines....

Nope. I already got my McLaren fix in the 1:43 scale! :wavetowel2:

Out of curiosity, as a collector who switched scale, would you ever make an exception and get one 1/18 as a centerpiece? Which model would it be if you did?

Well, to be honest, I will never buy another 1:18 again. But, hypothetically speaking, I would most likely feature Spark's 1/18 GT40 Mk I in Gulf livery as my centerpiece.

The short tail is one of the best shapes ever on a car.. The long tail doesn't even look like an f1 to me.

My thoughts exactly.

However I don't think that all Long Tails are less appealing than Short Tails.
For example Porsche 917L

I would say that I liked the 917L just the same as the the short tail, especially when sporting Martini or Gulf livery. :occasion14:

That's one word I'd never use about the F1, personally, in any form.

Purposeful, focussed, uncompromising, but 'beautiful'? Nah...

The original F1 is, it has a fantastic shape to it. Very simple and clean, although I do prefer the more agressive looking short tail GTR.

The long tail is, well too long.

I really want a black presentation car of this. I can't wait for them to produce it. I don't really care if its sealed since the AUTOart road car is the best for that, but this is exciting because it means that well eventually get the short tails, particularly the LM.

I think that maybe HPI will release some of the 1996 F1 GTRs that they made in 1/43... but yes it will be nice to have some proper model of this legend!

Great news. Finally, a longtail with the correct ride height. Shame that it's sealed though. Really looking forward to the wave of 1/18 Mclaren models that'll be release this year.

Agreed! I love my UT Models Mac, but the ride height just makes the car look off. I'm thinking about getting the red car model. With the correct ride height, the car looks much better.

Yes it really looks good! Also the z-tunes they have more accurate lines than the Autoarts. Also the Ueno Clinic F1 GTR looks sharp! I really don't expected HPI to release the shorttails F1 GTRs but they not where's the money! Will be a interesting year for me, because the F1 GTRs are my favourite racing cars! :drool5:

I think I'll be picking up both the #17 Shell 962 and #9 Italiya 962s by HPI, sick of waiting for Autoart to release thier Shell 962.

tbh I'll probably be able to buy both HPi 962s for the price of the Autoart 962.

Those Z-tunes are awesome! Specially the bayside blue one :drool5: ... I think autoart should have choose this color above matt white. I am also waiting for the 962s & the F1 GTRs shorttails also!

I have seen a few HPI 1/18th DTM Alfa's in the shops and also some of their 1/43 cars and they certainly look  well made, nice decals, nice paint etc, and their resin model price are certainly competitive to other resin model manufacturers.. Looking forward to see these soon...
