Actually, come to think of it, it's actually not much more budget for the 1/12 scales that the original poster is currently collecting. 1/12 scale models are not so many. If you average one model to be about $500, that's about $10k worth seeing that there's an estimated 20 pieces thereabouts. Some here have spent more than $10k for 1/18 and not surprising even for those collecting 1/43 which can cost $500 a piece upwards. It's all about quality over quantity.

Yes, and this is why I'd consider switching to 1:12 if my must-have car (Koenigsegg) were available in it.
On the other hand, I don't even have $2000 worth of 1:18, and my collection is pretty similar to this 1:12 one in content and number of pieces.

I can't see myself ever switching. There's to many cars that i adore and 1:12 just doesn't cover them.
also, i currently have about 60 models, and all of them combined total less than $3000 so 10k is still a very large budget.
not to mention, that display is probably a couple thousand as well.

I'm not familiar with the models you collect but hitting an average of $50 for decent 1/18 models is great. If I count the same number of cars the original poster collects in 1/12 collection and collect their best model makes in 1/18, I would average about $100 at best. Maybe more if I count shipping. Still, you don't get the presence and satisfaction of the 1/12.
Heck, in no way am I switching over to 1/12. I love 1/18 (as well as 1/43) because of the car choices available. 1/12 is to fit in the high octaves of diecast collecting for me.

Congrats there.

Received mine early this week on Monday.

Say of all your 1/12 scale models, which is the heaviest one?

If you're into collecting 1/12 scale, you should check out some stuff by ModelWorkShop (autoplacemodel.com). They do some unique 1/12 exotics at a very high end and price. Most are sold out but there are some going on eBay if you're interested. I have a few of their 1/18 models and I'm getting more soon.
Cheers

The Z8 is the James Bond edition.
I'm actually not so much of a E85 fan. I prefer the E89. I would buy a 1/12 of that if it were available.
