Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knows whether there is a 1:43 scale SSC Ultimate Aero on the cards by any of the better model companies?

I've been a collector for a short period of time and have started by collecting the "fastest production cars" through time since the year of my birth and the SSC is the only one I'm missing so any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jim

Jimmy: You can try write to Spark customer service. Tell them that you are looking for this model. Hope they get your message and pass it to the production line.. and probably they decide to produce such model next year...

Yeah. Even if it were only resin. I'd love to park one next to my Veyron and CCX.

Add me to the list - has Top Gear tested the SSC?

I don't believe the top Gear guys have reviewed the SSC Aero.  They did a small blurb, on their news segment about it, but since then pretty much ignored it.  Jay Leno did a review of it on his web blog/site - Jays Leno's Garage.  You can check out the video review of it there.  He has an interesting take on it and a pro bias which comes across since it is an american built car, the opposite of the top gear crew who seem to have a bias against american cars.

Yeah - would take one of those in 1/18.  Someone needs to take a Diablo, Saleen and what ever else is mixed in there and do some hacking and chopping to build one of these things!

I've seen two of these in person now.  One at the SEMA show a few years ago, and one last year at our local weekly Cars & Coffee event here in Washington.  Here are some pics of that one;

If it weren't for the production value of being the world's fastest I would wonder who would buy one.  Comparatively, based on looks alone it is pretty dated as far as super cars go and is reminiscent of an early 90's sports car in the same vein as the Cizeta V16T only with covered instead of pop-up headlights.  Don't get me wrong, I still want one in 1:43 of it for my collection, but if I had the cash for a real one there would probably be a list of a 100 or more I'd buy before an SSC.  It'll be interesting what the dude from Bertone comes up with when the new design comes out.

Cheers

This is a great theme that I've been working on for a couple of years (only in 1:18). Back when I came up with it I thought it was original, but I see there are people out there with the same idea. I'd like to see your collection some time. My collection so far is right here.

I agree completely. If somebody ever does this car in 1:18 I will buy it, but not before I have every other model in the collection in a color I'm happy with... Good luck!
A focused or planned collection can tell a story, while a random collection talks mostly about the collector. Neither is better than the other, it's personal choice - Woobs

Wow, very nice!  That is my favorite color combo on the SSC, with those rims too :occasion14:  Welcome to DX.

This is why I would but won't collect 1:43.  There are so many rare supercars available, like the SSC, I've also seen the Edonis, Heuliez Pregunta, Farboud GT, Yamaha OX99-11 and a ton more in 1:43 scale.  For me, the rarer and more obscure an exotic is, the better.  But the 1:43's of these are so rare and expensive that I can't go after them.

I missed this thread when Alan posted his BBR 1:43 SSC Ultimate Aero.

Looks really nice, Alan! Can you give us a photoshoot with other 1:43 supercars? Or do they all have to stay on their plinths?

It wouldn't hurt emailing Spark asking them about this model.

I emailed them quite a while ago asking for them to make this car:

And they just released the presentation version!!!  :gaah:
Im gonna wait for the race version, but it does seem like they may have considered my email   :icon_scratch:

Hi Alan,

Where did you get your 1/43 SSC Ultimate Aero from?  I've searched the net widely and can't find a link to it even on the BBR website.  Please share.

Hi Jimmy i know this is an extremely old thread but i have only just seen your question. I got the 1/43 Aero on Ebay its not BBR some company in China. Also i know that a 1/18 Aero will be coming in the not to distant future!!! Can't say more about this at this stage.😁
