Just a bit of fun folks, :occasion14:

I was just checking my recent posts for follow on comments and i realised that in the 'Read this and Weep' thread i had made the entry:

 mairandeddy, on 05 June 2010 - 03:50 AM, said:

Can't believe i landed this brute today for £141....

however due to the DX server vs Forex vs DNS (or whatever it was) problems that we've been experiencing. the accompanying picture that i uploaded never uploaded!!! http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/dizzy.gif

So there is the mystery...what was it that i shelled out £141  for and thought it was a bargain???

Anyone want to play?? http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/questionmark.gif  https://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/public/style_emoticons/default/questionmark.gif

Twenty questions is what you've got...however having said that i'll want to know Make, Marque, Year, Model and any special features......before i'll concede and crown the winner - 'Grand Inspector Clouseau equivalent Mega-brain 2010 to be revered by all DX members for the rest of all eternity'...!!! :occasion14:
Having said that if no-one gets it in 20 i'll post the picture anyway...what do you reckon? http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/dizzy.gif

I'll even start the ball rolling...

Q: Animal, vegetable or mineral??

A: (Well i never) Mineral - if Zamac is of course!! :tongue4:

Over to you.....question nineteen....

Cor Blimey guys that was a quick response - that's a third of the questions gone already... http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/dizzy.gif
Here goes!!

 :occasion14:

Good question lbj - indeed it bears a number - and here's a bonus - that number would be eleven...
But now the questions remaining are seventeen..

 winstoncds, on 11 June 2010 - 09:15 PM, said:

Front, rear or mid engined?

It is mid-engined Winston.
Sixteen to go....

 118supercars, on 11 June 2010 - 10:04 PM, said:

Old timer or modern?

Bit stuck with this question 118, I would have answered 'modern' but then it is a bit subjective as no doubt most members here would class ME an 'old timer' but in my head i like to consider myself 'modern'!!!
A 'before or after' a certain date would be easier to answer - so we won't count that one eh?...

 supercars, on 12 June 2010 - 01:04 AM, said:

That would be rear wheel drive Super'
Fifteen to go...

Hey Mooseman - steady on - that's about 3 questions in one!!
But actually it is none of these!!!

They were some good questions there guys so that should have narrowed it down a bit....

But ther're still fourteen more nibbles at the cherry....

Of course you can mbc, but remember i'm after the Make, Marque, Model Year and any special features' and i think a guess counts as a 'question' off the total does it not?

On that basis - it's actually NOT AUTOart, sorry!!!

ok...my one and only guess :

Exoto 1979 Ferrari 312T4 #11 Jody Schekter

It's European, mid engine, one seater, no doors, above 150.000, not too old, but neither modern , no AUTOart (lol), rear wheel drive and #11 and I think £141 is a bargain for it...

...eh,   :wtff: what was that Winstoncds....?? Yes I know that 5 minutes after i posted my first set of answers you PM'd me with the following message...

winstoncds, on 12 June 2010 - 11:07 AM, said:

Hi Eddy,
I hope you are doing fine.
I was wondering if you managed to get Jody Schekters Ferrari F1 race car, the 312T4 by Exoto, the last to win the World Championship for Ferrari till Schumacher changed their fortunes again.
The no doors and no. 11 gave it away. It had to be a race car and a F1 car too. Also a look at your profile pretty much confirmed it for me that you would definitely love the pre-Schumacher Ferraris in your already splendid line up of models.
Best regards,
Winston

...but Winston, i thought we made a pact that you would graciously hide your light under a bushel as you are already 'The Omnipresent Being' with a brain the size of a planet, and that we would still roll it out so i wouldn't look like a complete jerk for starting a thread that finished before it even started....!! http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/dizzy.gif

You see Mbc112 that that's how it was, so I feel i will have to include a rider in your title - therefore I dub thee:

'MBC112 - GRAND INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU (AND WINSTONCDS) EQUIVALENT MEGA-BRAIN 2010 TO BE REVERED BY ALL DX MEMBERS FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY...!!!'

         https://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/public/style_emoticons/default/rock.gif

Thanks to all those of you who took part or enjoyed reading, and by the way, after all that - here's the offending photo that i tried to upload in the first place!!!  Please note that there is actually a little Jody figure in it as well - priced on the Exoto website at $798 - so EVEN if they did it in one of their 50% sales then i still think i got the bargain of my life!!     :wtff: :wtff:

Yes Joe, they really excell in the engine department from what i've seen, but i only have the GT40s (Mk II and IV variants).  The 312T certainly is a masterpiece, i'll have to take some closeups!!

Nice add Fast Eddy at a surefire bargain price too. Yes the 312T4 is an amazing diecast, given full treatment by the artians at Exoto. Be sure to enjoy it, I love my version too and it certainly has historical significance given the drought between championships.
