Silver McLaren LM by UT.

Real rareness should be measured by models released by a commercial company, not special editions from small independent manufacturers that change their names all the time due to licensing issues. I have several custom built models in 1:18 and 1:12 which are extremely rare becasue many of them are the only ones ever produced in that style, color or combination. Resins are 1:18's, not diecasts.

Interms of numbers and stuff, it would be my BBR F430 Spider(Limited to 509) but for me...it's my Autoart V8 Vantage because it's just impossible to find one now.

Judging from DX, my rarest model appears to be my yellow/black Veyron. Only 5 or 6 DXers have one, if the registry is accurate.

My rarest and least common diecast would be my CMC Mercedes 300SL Le Mans winner, 1 of 1,500. It has been at least 3 years since one has come up on ebay and are held onto by most owners. Same can be said with my CMC Mercedes Benz W196 'Fangio' though this one will be getting rarer with zinc decay destroying many. Other rarities:

MR Lamborghini Reventon Roadster 1 of 300...

whoa that Reventon looks 1:1 in that pic.

As far as my collection goes, not really much rare cars I suppose... although that might change once BBR or someone releases the new Lambo... 2 teasers in and I'm dead set on having that alreadyy.   :icon_scratch:

Hmmm. I would have to say that I have three die-casts in my collection that are rare:

#1: Exoto Ford GT40 Standox Silverstone Blue #A0002
Attached File  PRM00075.JPG   20.01K   4 downloads

#2: Exoto Porsche 934 Authentic White #A0005
Attached File  RLG18090.jpg   19.87K   7 downloads

#3: Exoto Porsche 934 Authentic Orange #A0005
Attached File  pors.JPG   20.35K   5 downloads

I was pretty excited that both of my Porsche die-casts ended up being the same matching serial number! Also, my Exoto Sharknose Ferrari is #A0066. My other Exoto die-casts are all in the low 100s, but nothing too significant.

There's one on eBay right now asking over $1000.

Ridiculous. The black painted ones are only $150.

While it's probably not my rarest in terms of numbers made, my CMC '52 MB 300SLR ('52 Le Mans winner)is probably the hardest to find and certainly the most sought-after. I understand that 1500 were made but many were recalled due to die-cast cancer and many others simply disintegrated. Mine has a bad case of cancer but it seems to be in remission.

There have been a few that have been on eBay since the release for that much or more.

That's why I was curious where this gentleman bought it from.

The rarest model in my collection is an Exoto Nissan with rolling chassis 1 of only 66 , I laso have a couple of Exotos that are 1 of 100 a Porsche 917/30 Sunococ with crash damage and a Ford GT 40 Mk IV with crash damage. I also have a couple of CMC birdcages one signed by Moss and another signed Gurney these are 1 of 100 too.

Simondc07 I just love that 206 SP Syder I really wish that GMP will produce a model of this much missed Ferrari as it one of the best looking machines to have left the factory.Congratulations

Mosteller the CMC 300SLR Mercedes Le Mans car is rare, but they were never officaly recalled by the factory. They would exchange them if you contacted them about the zinc pest but by then they could not exchange it for another of the same car as they had ben all sold by then. I have the same problem with my Mercedes W196 R open wheeler, yes they would exchange it but for a none limited edition so I kept it. Hope it not in to bad a state as it is a wonderful model.
