Thread bump time,

Right now, my 1/18 McLaren P1 'owners edition' model by TecnoModel. I read about it a few months ago on here & never knew that it existed before then. I don't know how many were produced or much else about it. It doesn't have any code or other writing on it at all. The packaging is McLaren specific, the boxes are all White with McLaren embossed on them, same for the card slip case. The car sits on a White shiny base which replicates floor tiles (I assume as if the car was in the showroom)

It was never available to the public. I believe it was either given to actual owners of the real car, or given to some who showed real interest in it. I knew right away that I wanted one, the only thing was, the one shown on here was in Canada & it was 950 CAD (so around £600)  A short while after, one turned up on eBay here. As soon as I spotted it, I was interested! But it wasn't cheap. After asking the seller a lot of questions & seeing what I could get it for I bought it. I don't often buy doubles of models (I have the model by TecnoModel already in Gloss Black with Silver wheels) but I figured it was a 'once in a life time' chance, so I had to have it!

Here are the online pics of the one in Canada, mine's the same :)

My Davis & Giovanni - Novitec Ferrari F12 N Largo in Rosso Corsa. One of 30 pieces and very hard to come by now.

Posted Image

BBR – Ferrari 488 Challenge. One of only 3 pieces produced for a classic French car show last year. The car exists in this colourway already from BBR, but not with the dragons on it.

Posted Image

Also, my Spark - Porsche 911 GT3 Carrera Cup Asia - Singapore 2015 'Sparky' model. One of 100 pieces produced but basically impossible to find now. The design came from one that a child drew for a competition which they won, so the real car raced that way (picture from the only one on eBay)

No idea.

Probably one of the AB or MCW Jaguars I have - I think one is one of 35 or 25, but I'd have to check.

I was thinking yesterday, my Kenny McKinstry / Noel Orr, 2004 Manx Rally, code 3 AUTOart Subaru Impreza rally car which is one of 40. I think mine has their signatures on a sponsorship sticker that came with it.

There was another one the company made a run of too, a Eugene Donnelly car, neither appear for sale now. The one I'm missing (Donnelly car) did a few months ago, but it ended up selling for a crazy price.

My Rothmans, 1986 Arnold Clark Scottish Rally, Jimmy Mcrae / Ian Grindrod, code 3 Revell Opel Manta is rare, iirc one of 50 by PJ Rally Models. I've never seen another one.

Also, not worth a lot, but hard to come by now, the old Solido Fiat 500 model in Green towing a small camping trailer. I wanted that one for years! I got it a while ago.

There was also a Black one with a roof rack with luggage & skis on it. I got that one years ago and wanted the Green one to go with it.

Just going by the numbers, my Tecnomodel Alfas and Ferraris, which all have somewhere under 200 made.  The blue 365P Tre Posti is one of 75, and I remember ordering the last one that I could find from a shop in Hong Kong.

The FrontiArt blue Cizeta is one of 300.

As far as price, the most that a model that I have seems to go for is the AutoArt Alfa 33 Stradale for $700, $800, etc.  Mine isn't in perfect shape, I'm still hoping to find a donor to use for parts, and AutoartSpares doesn't have them  :gaah:

Hey Mike those are truly rare and beautiful model cars you have there. Love every single one of them and the Cizeta is truly a weird and unique quad headlight beast of a supercar. The Alfa 33 Stradale is such a beautiful piece from Autoart. I am glad i pulled the trigger when they were still avaiable. I was hesitate to pay more than $200 for an Autoart back in the day LOL but looking back if i didnt do that I would never be able to afford one now  .

For me it must be the Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso (based on the Ferrari F12) in Blu Tour de France. 1 of only 20 pieces:

Thanks Jazzy, I saw a Cizeta in person a couple years ago and it is indeed  one crazy supercar.  It's nice that they were able to make the quad pop-up headlights open on a resin model.  Makes for a great duo with the Autoart Diablo VT...speaking of rare Autoarts, I really regret selling my Diablo GTR and Roadster, getting a resin or composite GTR just wouldn't be the same.
I too missed the 33 Stradale at first and had to pay extra for it, but ya, only a fraction of what they go for now.

Mike K, those Tecnomodel Alfas and Ferraris are amazing!!!

I think this is probably my rarest 1:18 car - a Triang/Meccano Ferrari 512S Speciale 1969.  Mine was mint in box, but I have changed the fairly horrible stock wheels for some slightly more authentic 5 spokes with knock-offs.  Originally I was going to detail it, replace the wiper, add a proper interior and give it a gleaming coat of Rosso Corsa, but now knowing how rare they are, I will keep it as it is and have the option of putting the original wheels back on.  Anyone else got one or seen one?
