Exoto Lola T70 Coupe.
That was my next guess.

Mine too, so I had to revise my guess and try the next. If it is not either I am out of ideas.

I have one more guess...just not sure if it qualifies as a Brit.  The Minichamps Ford Escort Racers.

Wrong.....but Gavins answer was a 'triumph' of sorts  :drool5: however it's not a done deal yet !!!

So it's seven to go,  :twocents: (but I really don't think I'll get to five now......) :wavetowel2:

Go on it's going to be a sprint to the finish line once i press this 'add reply' button....

Ford Escort  1968 Nurburgring -- #36 Alan Mann Racing

After knowing it was a race car, the number should have been the next question, that would have helped A LOT!!!

WOW!

I really thought that Gavin was going to nail this - and i think we have to give him credit for getting sooooo close :wavetowel2:

But congratulations preisman - it was your perseverence that paid off and you were first past the post!! :twocents:   :occasion14:   :wavetowel2: So here's a beer - you earned it! :wavetowel2:

Once more I have to concede AGAIN to you diecast boffins as well - you got me fair and square!!!   :bawling:

You're right preisman, it would have been a big boost to have got the livery number earlier - but in a way i'm glad - I don't know if you remember - but giving away the number early on is how I came unstuck way back here.... :twocents:

In fact this time you got there SO quick that I must admit I haven't had the time to take any pictures yet - other than this quick shot .... :tongue4: sorry... :omg:

Well done again preisman, and thanks for joining in the game and marking the arrival of model #200!! :drool5:

Great ad, the Mk1 is probably my favourite shape Escort, but I don't have any wide arched ones (I need to rectify that)

Thanks Craig, I'm really knocked out with this model, as IMO it incorporates all the features of what i remember as the 'iconic' rally car of my youth, i.e. essentially a street car with bumpers and wipers removed, fat tyres, tape on the headlamps, an authentic black and white number plate........ and not least.... those outrageous wheel arches!! :wavetowel2:  :twocents:   :occasion14:

Congrats Eddy for adding #200. Great game guys, Gavin and Preisman you play a solid game uncovering the shroud of secrecy. Personally I would have thought Exoto GT40 from the start.

Cheers Simon! :twocents: Not quite as exotic as your #200   :occasion14: :wavetowel2: However it represents a diversion for me, as it is my only GB rally car and for the reason given in my last post above, was an itch that needed scratching!! :wavetowel2:

I had to leave for my daughter's soccer game...but I figured I'd gotten us close enough  that somebody else could close it.

Always glad to help!   :wavetowel2:

Congrats on #200, Eddy...that's a cool model.  I love the blue/silver one #3 I have (posted above).  Those flares....:twocents:

Actually Gavin, it was  your recent thread that turned me on to the model....I first searched for the blue/silver like yours, then Lazards red/silver and in doing so chanced upon the #36 Mann version - and immediately fell hook line and sinker for the gold/red livery and that 'F' registration plate!!! :drool5:
So you see, it's all your fault!!    :wavetowel2:

Man, can't believe I missed it. Would love to play but then, I doubt I'll come close to getting the answer because I thought it would've been a Mini. Lol.

Anyway, congrats on your 200th model! Doubt I'll ever reach that milestone myself. Lol.

No worries, yep it's great - aside from the Escort Cosworth the Mk1 is my favourite Escort, I think I'll sort out a couple now.
I do have three, they're road cars though, I've got a slim body Mexico & two RS2000's (all are custom jobs)

I do need some bubble arch action!!!

F**k you Photobucket.
