I miss this site and hobby, I also realized all of my old posts and photos from 7 years ago are gone. Most of you don't know they exist, so.....

I had collected nine 1:10 Exoto Ford GT cars back in 2004 (directly from Tony K. over at Exoto... a very painful experience but with good results). Most of the cars I bought were never released (they were prototypes and color studies)... Exoto is famous for that... anyway I never posted this particular picture, it is of the very car Exoto used to announce and show off their very first 1:10 th scale GT40 car at car shows in early 2000-02. I bought it damaged on Ebay about 6 or 7 years ago. I have 9 other cars and will continue to post them over the next few days, if there's interest.

Cheers all!!!

I'll get some higher res pics in the next few days... This pic is 4 of the prototypes in my display cabinet and 1 production model (the #1 car on the second shelf, not to be mistaken with my first pic in the first post).

Between AUTOart and Exoto annoucing models and then not releaseing them there must be at least a collection full thats never been made problem is Exoto have sold the prototypes of a few and you'd think if they'd got that far why not produce the models for sale?

Really nice stuff.  There's gotta be more margin in the 1/10 stuff but I don't think there are enough buyers (due to cost and space limitations).  I think Exoto simply figures out where the revenue needs to come from and then produces that.  They've definitely gone super high end and after more than a decade are still clearing out old inventory.

Impressive collection.  Exoto is the best IMO.

I have been battling with Exoto and spoken with Tony K. for YEARS over when will I get my prepaid orders for these:  i have the black and blue Mark II versions but have never been able to purchase ANY of the Mark IVs, and have promised by TK several times.  If you should decide to sell any of the Mark IVs I'm interested!
If you please post more photos of these, it will be consolation that someone was able get them.

Can you still get a refund, or has it been too long?

I had a very similar situation with Exoto many years ago. I had to get my bank involved, contact the BBB, and threaten with litigation in order to get my money back. Exoto are a bunch of crooks, and Tony K is notorious for making empty promises.

Sure wish Roadtrip would put up some high resolution photos of these prototype Exoto XCUs: but it looks like he's off to other interests, maybe he'll decide to sell some of these someday I hope!

I think the last thing this hobby needs is yet another production scale. 1/12th, 1/18th, 1/24th and 1/43rd ought to be enough mass production options for anyone. I never saw one in the flesh, but I did see photo's of Minichamps 1/8th scale F1 cars from 20 or so years ago. They were hugely expensive at the time, and as far as I know, no one in impoverished Ireland bought any......  And it's yet another unpopular scale which has fallen into the hands of very exclusive small volume producers. And way out of my budget.
