Anyone with a step by step on how to swap wheelsd on a GMP 1970 Roadrunner? I want to get a good look in before I attempt this. I basically want to swap out the stock wheels on my Orange blown Roadrunner to Keystone Drags... Any ideas?

Cheers!

Someone posted an instruction sheet on wheel removal and I saved it ...somewhere.  Will have to search for it this evening.  If you go to the search and try 'wheel removal'  you should find some info.   Most likely NOT this specific swap, but maybe something close.

The good news is that you're replacing GMP with GMP (right) products.   That should make things at least a little easier....

Hey Mark,

Cheers! Yes I just wanted to know if it can be done easily, just thought I might switch it up, and if I don't like it swap back. Yes the ones I'm wantiong to swap with are GMP wheels.

Well I wanted to swap the wheels on exactly the same model only I want to mount another dragwheel set (same as the ones on the Scarelane I).
I gave up because I don't want to damage the model...

Well in the meantime I know how the wheels are mounted on a 1970 Roadrunner from GMP (this is for the rally wheels).

It's been a year, but maybe still handy for some people.

Front:

Take of the tires and you can split the wheel in half. It is glued together and holded in place by just two pins on each wheel. When you split the wheel in half there is a screw. That's all.

Rear:

They are just glued on a metal axle with ruf ends. Try to rotate the rear wheels in opposite directions and one should come loos. On mine it was easy and took only a few minutes.

Good luck!

This is the only GmP car I have with swapped wheels
I believe GMP came out with a street fighter version of this several years
after.   The wheels on this car are permanently glued and do not roll
