I LOVE this

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item5651bcacef

but the price is stupid. My request is could someone mod a HWE version to look like that? I want to keep the interior the same as the Elite but want the wheels and brakes from the MR. Or is it easy enough to do myself...

That would be incredibly easy to do, Matt black is one of, if not the easiest colours to paint, needs no primer or clear so it's literally a case of flatting the original paint, spray it, put it together and reapply your decals

If you had the decals ready , you could finish the project in a day easily

The HWE is matt black already so it's just the wheels and callipers that need doing. How easy/hard is it to remove the wheels? (this is the point where I destroy the model lol)

Matte Black is by far the easiest color to shoot. :) These will be a doodle! :)

These guys are making it sound soooo easy !!!  Firstly, stripping the model is always fraut with danger of breakages and you will have to strip it right back to respray it.  Then equally putting it back together is dangerous as glues/resins can attack your fresh paintwork, or worse plastic pieces.

However, taking that into consideration it is not beyond anyone who takes their time, has the correct tools and somewhere warm and dry to spray the car.

Things to be careful of are the glass screens, headlights, rear lenses, as breaking these is often a killer stroke.  Minor damage to chassis components can be satisfatory repaired.

Just go carefully and take your time, get yourself a dentist pick as these are invaluable for modding cars.

Cool, thanks for the info guys. It's just the wheels and brake callipers that need painting as the model is already matt black. It's just removing the wheels that will be the challenge

LOL, well THAT is an easy job !!

Most wheels are either squeezed onto a spindle or are screwed on.  The centre cap will usually come off if it is screwed on, then obviously unscrew.  If its just on a spindle you will need to pop it off, usually by force from the rear with a small screwdriver.

You need to ask in the other custom section, I'm sure someone will have done one.
