It's horrible...
Here's a guide to make a better looking seat belts without spending much money.
Things you need:
1. Two styrene sheet or rectangular rods (one thicker than the other).
2. A little piece of thin wire.
3. Ribbon.
4. Hand drill (0.4mm bit).
5. Red and Black paints.
Step 1: Cut a piece of the thinner styrene rod to the width of the ribbon:

Step 2: Using a hand drill (0.4mm drill bit for my example), drill two holes each on the cut out styrene:

Step 3: Bend the piece of wire into half like this and cut out a small length of it. This will be the tongue. Repeat for the other side:

Step 4: Now push the ends of the wire to the styrene and it should look like this:

Step 5: Using the thicker piece of styrene rod, cut out two pieces, proportional to the size of the tongue. This will be the buckles:

Step 6: Paint the buckles and tongues and install it on your model car. Glue the buckle to the side of the seats and the tongue to the belt. They now look better don't they?
