Hi guys,

I have a few Minichamps F1 models and wondered if scuffing the tyres would give them a more realistic look. Any idea how to scuff them?

I've never done it myself Sean, but folks here have used sandpaper... :twocents:

Yes, this is actually a look I really like.  Adds just a touch more realism.  As said above, sandpaper.  I haven't been able to find a grit that works easily.  I would imagine the lower grits would work better.

I did it once and it works. There are only a few models that have really bad tires. So I have not wanted to do this too often.

Could this be done to to the likes of slick tyres on the Alfa 33 TT Spa i picked up the other week, Or is just for F1 cars?

Lock the wheels + tires with bolt, nuts and washers into a Dremel and use a sanding stick on the tire while the Dremel is spinning. I saw the tutorial some where... Can't remember where though... :twocents:
