The next one is a Gorgeous model. It's the Autoart 1/12 2013 McLaren P1 Matt Black with Red accents. Such a joy to see opening parts to a 1/12 model and it feels robust when you handle the parts that open them like the front hood and two doors open along with the rear wing, can be prised up from the closed position, although my model didn't come with a tool(second hand but advertised as new) Such a pity the rear Engine glass doesn't open, you missed a trick there AUTOart.Comes with steerable wheels too,now that is a feature i do miss on a model. I love the shape of these McLaren's and the detail is very good but not as good as the BBR and Peako 1/12 models but they are sealed so it's swings and roundabouts. The 1/12 McLaren 720S is just a few models back if you want to compare models. May have to look at getting the red version too they are that nice, see what you Guys think.

Very nice addition indeed - congrats Darren!!! :yahoo:
I will definitely need have add a matt black model some day... :nice:

Opening doors & hoods add so much value to a model.
Obviously this is hard to achieve for model makers in tiny scales but I can’t see why the wast majority of 1/12 models is sealed... :gaah:

Thanks,Dirk,i have quite a few Matt Black models now and up to now they have all suited the subjects in question. I wish for all 1/12 models to be fully open like the good old days but we can only buy the models that they put on the shelves, some really nice sealed ones i must say though. :yahoo: :occasion14: :danke:

I really like the matte black on the P1! It really matches the attitude of the design and the car itself.

Next up is another beauty in the larger scale. It's the Spark 1/12 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Pink Pig,Class Winner 24h Le Mans . Another great looking model although it looks bigger than the 1/12 McLaren's i recently added and noticeably wider or it looks it when near each other. Although sealed it is a very nice looking model.

Thank you,Nick for the kind words and what an achievement to go through the whole thread, something i have done only a few times in the last seven or so years on here. Many more to add after the lock down has been lifted and the Family are back at work (so i have a chance of sneaking them in LOL) :yahoo: :occasion14: :danke:

For someone who can follow through the years it is good to follow your thread, but if you are new here it is really a lot. But it was definitely not a punishment :eusa_clap:
I'm happy to hear that! :yahoo: Aaah that is your trick, maybe that will work for me too :giggle:

Loving the Pink Porsche Darren. Spark do an exceptional job on their racers and this is further evidence. Good to see another serial sneaker at work though be forewarned. If you are going to move house, work under the cover of darkness, get a large removal truck and a seperate storage facility. The scale of your collection, if revealled all at once could, cause a heart attack.

Thanks Simon, heart attack averted she finds out anyway so i just get the cold shoulder after her finding out  I find Spark to make some highly detailed models with good finish in 1/12 and they seem to be consistent from what i have seen. :twocents: :occasion14: :yahoo: :danke:

Up next is such a Fantastic looking model. It's the Dealer Edition(GT Spirit,i am told) BMW D E 1/12 2019 BMW I8 Roadster in Orange/Black. This is a lot better than i expected with no flaws to the model although i did buy it reduced price as it has a cracked clear cover,i can live with that. This is a very sharp looking model and i am glad i added this to my collection. It also came with a certificate,English on one side and German on the other, very nicely made too along with a stamped on box BMW logo. The case came wrapped in a black cloth like you get from BBR ? A really nice model worth getting.

Speaking from experience sneaking in 1/18 model in box is hard enough as it is. Let alone 1/12 :giggle: My past strategy normally hides the models in the trunk of the car until late at night when wife is asleep or in the room then i would sneaked it in. Super hard if expecting delivery because delivery guys always have to rock up at the most inconvenient time. 1/43 on the other hand.. easily concealed. Can almost walk past with one tucked in the pants without arousing suspicion :giggle:

This looks great in this spec!
I would have liked to have seen decent tyres and some more depth to the buttons on the dash, but otherwise a lovely looking piece.... Now I just need to find a cheap one lol

Thanks for your comment. the 1/12 is too big to hide bringing in. With this i was fortunate to be outside cleaning my car :nice: so i put it in the boot till it was clear to bring in the house. I had pre noted the Wife i was going to try and fix the case on one of my models today so she knew a model was going to be on the table(but not knowing it was one i had just bought) so i tried to fix the cracked case but failed ,made the crack even worse  . So i took it back with the others without her knowing it had come. :yahoo:

Thanks Chaim. Yes it still could do with more detail but for the price i got it for i can't complain. Agree, the dash detail could have been better but this is how GTS make their dashboards now. I was lucky finding this but you never know another may come up cheap again for you.

Thanks Guys for your comments,i love this in front of me as the colour is better than the photos suggest. I have only seen the 1/12 i8 in this colour so this is al that is available, different that the norm.
