And it's not just because he nominated me, but I would like to nominate preisman. Despite all the major real life upheaval he's had this year, he's found the time to stay very active here with an ongoing plethora of posts and pics....
Not just that, but he's (again) taken on the Member/models of the year contests...that is in itself an Herculean task but ON TOP OF ALL THAT he's also hosting the Advent calendar!

IMHO if anyone deserves to be Member OTY 2013 it's you Jon!

I am truly shocked that no one has stepped up & given this member a Tip of their Cap, I myself owe a great debt to this guy as he's put me into more bargains than I've had hot dinners. Since joining in 2012 I've not only enjoyed his first hand knowledge & sharing of diecast information but also had the pleasure of speaking regularly about non diecast related topics (ok, mostly cars) & feel he is probably the most honest speaking, no thrills, no "I've got the best models", no "I can do better than you" attitude & damn right great guy to have the privilege of their company here at DX. I was hoping that someone else would have put him up by now as I know he's helped many of us this year alone & been a welcome friend & advocate to members old & new.....Dave You're a Top Bloke.
There are some truly great members here who do a fantastic job & are top people but I've got to go with Dave as he goes that little bit extra for his fellow collectors.......One day I may even enjoy a beer with the old git lol

Most generous of you both. Its not about the post count as i have said in the past. But its about making people feel as welcome in this community as possible, We all need some help when we arrive. If i am online and someone needs help, with anything i can be of assistance with, i will very gladly take my time and help them.
And its always nice to see people being welcomed in to the fold... shame its the same people who do the welcoming all the time... Instead of just logging in to check out the 2013 AUTOart news!!
While i am here i would like to nominate Craig.... Within a year he has gone from an excellent member, to a moderator, to administrator. I know he hides behind his private status so we dont know when he actually online

WTG Craig.... you are a very worthy nomination of this title.

These guys have been the most helpful, most inspiring, most humorous, most relaxed, most professional in representing DX to a bloody newcomer.
They made me want to be part of this gang, rather than lurking and reading in the dark spots of the forum. They bring out the best in terms of collections, advice, behavior, style and all the things I wish I had on my aviation related discussion boards - involvement, and taking ownership in this site. My listing is likely incomplete, may experience additions as I run into more of those members who made me go... "WOOF! Am I glad I signed up here." The order of posting is not qualitative of their "rank" - I do not think one member alone could be as good as they are without other members making them want to be that guy/ gal.
Matthew
For being an openminded, quick responding, friendly moderator, turned admin, who is permanently looking to help new members. Like a sunny spot on a rainy day, you can write this guy at pretty much any time and if your response isn't respectful and friendly, you musta done sumtin terribly wrong.
Super guy. Can't ask for a better friend and advisor to have on your side with diecasts.
Preisman
For being a energizer bunny through events and a first class collector, allowing guys like me to gain insight and go broke, by simple use of his camera and locations. He holds a special place on this forum for me, because I ended up buying his Aston Martin V8 and he was just a cool seller, trustworthy and straight forward.
Dave7272
A constant factor in greeting, habitually nice, helpful, open and freshminded guy any website should be happy to have.
Wellzie74
Basically a copy of Dave, or the other way around, but the same quality of member. Makes me want to travel to England and have some beers.

All three for being simply excellent characters and striking (at least me) as awesome members to have on a forum. Simple excellence to have and be proud of as a forum. They are motivators in everything they do, never negative, never discouraging.
raidou (Reiner from Germany, the Super Modder of All Time)
Friendly, openminded, helpful, sharing, excellent work and talent which, to have here, reflects extremely well and positively on the forum. He's gone through health issues, probably faced some tremendous fears about not being able to continue modding and not having him on this site would be a downdraft to the site. I know there is a Modder Of The Year 2013 thread, which I believe he should have, but also as a community member, he is one of those rare gems we should recognize. All around cool guy.
That's my listing so far... forgive the length of it, in advance.

My nom is going to go to schuifelhoofd (Sven). He's constantly a positive, selfless contributor even on models and collections that aren't his main theme. He's even gone out of his way to get models for other members and offers in depth knowledge on 1:1 and 1:18's. He's the exact type of member that makes this forum a community instead of a website.

Also, members like Dave and Welzie deserve their nominations because of their positive and welcoming attitude.
But I think there are a few new members that deserve some recognition as well like Justinpkw and Andy205. Eventho they haven't been here for long, they have contributed to DX with their positive attitude, awesome pictures and helpful tips on car detailing and modding. Not to mention I'm also constantly envious of their ability to grab absolute bargains!!
