Maybe if UPS and their "investigating" comes up negative, you can take it up with the seller. UPS will probably never contact the seller on their own will, because in their minds the package was delivered safely.

My most recent experience with UPS has been bad, and I'm referencing their normal full-time staff. I've had better success with FedEx, honestly.

Unfortunately the buyer doesn't usually get to choose. Its sad but we'll see. According to the UPS guy, if the package is not recoverable, the cops will show up.
Shortly after the area will be considered "unsafe" and UPS will no longer deliver the addresses in the area without signature confirmation. One idiot driver can screw it for a bunch of people.

The Double Left Handed Christmas Help has arrived at the local UPS distributor and two brand- spanking new BMW F10 M5's are spending the night someplace, but definitely not here. $160,00 dollars worth of models left on someones doorstep, just not the right doorstep. 60 minutes on the phone with UPS resolved to - Uhhh. Ahhh... Yeah... Ahem... No.... Maybe.... But.... Ohhh! Oh yes, we will "investigatate" this and try to recover the packages for you...

Both used models (E60M5) and Alpha Romeo 8C are supposedly at the USPS office. They have a new rule that prohibits them from driving into any driveway that does not allow them to turn around in ONE SWING. No backing is allowed unless a second USPS worker is present to guide the vehicle. Wonder when they'll start hiring drivers who can maneuver one of the smallest imaginable delivery vehicles without an 600K Ton Freightship Pilot being flown in from Sweden every time, in case they have to back up.

Imagine you could be working a government job that allows you to be completely incompetent and unable to do your job at all, but you get paid north of $20.00/ hour and if you don't want to go someplace, you just don't and USPS will change the rules. If your boss asks you to park, you just smack into something and claim USPS didn't train you properly. Then, you'll just never have to park again.

Lets make everything totally idiot proof. Sure thing, there will be a much bigger idiot...

Question: At what point (UPS case) do you contact the seller to let them know that they're on the hook for a full refund in cases like this?

Sorry to hear about this, Jason. Believe me, I know what you are going through. One time, a UPS driver actually delivery my package to the wrong house. I spent an hour on the phone with UPS with the same answer, "they'll investigate" the situation. If it wasn't for a nice neighbor of mine who brought the package to me, there was a good chance that I would have been burned by UPS.

I hope you get your models, Jason, Especially the 8C as I ship that one out to you.

Utterly useless! We have a shipping company "TNT" over here, and they have the same misbehaving.
Putting the package in the back of the mailbox, sometimes even sign for it themselves, delivering it at the wrong address.....
Last unrecieved package was "delivered and singned for" according to track&trace. TNT investigated,
and found out that the driver delivered it at the wrong address, but he couldn't remember where....
So some guy received my $80 model, signed for it, and is now enjoying it for free as they don't have a clue who that was...Posted Image

Last package that i did receive in the back of the mailbox, was "signed for" according to track&trace, but not by me.
Me and the seller agreed to learn TNT a lesson, and filed a "did not recieve" claim. After 5 months of investigation,
a document which proves my home address and signature, they finally refund us the money. It was an "insured and signed for" shipping.

What confuses me is why he selected "front door" from the drop-down menu as to delivery location and drove off.
Problaby stayed in front for 2 minutes, and then selected 'front door'. Get's him another 2 minutes break.

Completely off topic (apologies) but OP, the blue/white on the BMW roundel in your avatar is the wrong way round.
