Despite the imperfections you cite, that's a very nice looking model!
sealed models are resinI'm so used to Minichamps only releasing sealed 992 Porsches, I thought that one was sealed as well.
I see what you mean about the brake discs, but to me personally the lack of carpet/flocking is more of a deal breaker than that. Edit: does it have any interior flocking btw?
Edit: I just went on the CLDC site and checked out the Minichamps 992 range, and I must say, $264 is a very steep price for that level of quality.
And your point is? Sealed models are sealed models.sealed models are resin
opening features are diecast
that’s what I've been informed
Yeah, that must be Minichamps' "best models for the Asian market only" that Paul Lang was bragging about on that interview posted on another thread.Minichamps has both versions of the anniversary 992 Turbo-S in the market.
But the opening diecast seems to be offered in Asia only - very well in line with the strategy Minichamps‘ founder explained to us.
Meanwhile I found a German online dealer offering those for 250€.
Too much if you ask me - especially as I do not like this anniversary livery or the colours which come with this special edition…
The point was sharing my knowledge stating the difference in materials used to manufacture either the resin or diecast models. And your point is? Sealed models are sealed models.
There is a Yellow and Red variant that do not show the Livery and still feature the openings parts.Minichamps has both versions of the anniversary 992 Turbo-S in the market.

Was thinking about etched discs... wonder how difficult it would be to fiddle around with for resale value in the future?A nice looking model, as you've said a shame about the brakes, they cheaped out there.
I remember their BMW M2 model a few years ago, some on here were modifying them, so I got one and played around with it. I did what I'd call a ceramic brake disc conversion to it (basically took the model apart, painted the brake bells in Black, did the brake discs a dark Grey colour I mixed up so it gave the impression of a ceramic looking disc, and did the brake calipers in Gold, then got some M decals and put those on) I eradicated the awful plastic brakes and made it look as I felt it should.
