Hi, I'm new here and I have a challenge that I was told I would be able to find help here. Im a huge fan of the Orbit Racing Porsche 911 GT3R that runs in the American LeMans Series. I also noticed that Auto Art makes a 911 GT3R in street trim that is just white. Woud it be possible to turn the white street car into the race car. Where would I be able to find decals, or could I have them custom made, or would I have to do it myself. Enclosed is a pic of both cars. Thanks for any help!

Welcome aboard and glad to have you

Hope you enjoy the forums :cheers

The GT3R by AUTOart is begging to be turned into a racer. Everything is already there with the exception of the decals.

In order to reproduce the Orbit Porsche, you may have to consider a repaint as the 1;1 version has a lot of blue to it. The decals is always the problem, its always hard tofind decals for models you are looking for. Maybe someone can chime in with a solid source on locating decals for this model. :cheers

Personally, I would just add the one Yankee logo and be done. :happy

Looks like a perfect fit.

You can have decals made but it doesn't look like anything to difficult to find. NY Yankees logo, USA flag and numbers... The hardest par will be the paint scheme...

Good luck I'm sure it'll look real cool...

I keep hearing something about having decals made, but never no information about it :confused

Can someone please post a name, email or URL of any place that makes decals for 1:18 :feedback :feedback

I have a ton of decals that I would like to have made :cheers

thx :cheers
If I were you i'd start without the decals and get them later. You just need to paint it that blue, the mirrors silver and the spoiler black. Those silver a white stripes i'm sure can be done via decals.

Sounds like a cool project that you are planning :cheers

Thanks guys! The piant wouldn't be too difficult, I'd just need tsome detailer's tape like they use for custom motorcycle paint jobs, but some of the decals would be a pain. Someone said you can have them made. Does anyone have a website or phone number I could call?
Source of Custom Decals:

Have not used them, actually got this from this board, in another thread.

You might chat him up, and see what he can do for you.

Good Luck, and welcome to the Board.

Lots of others of us try to do re-paints, and such. It is a great way to bring personality into your collection.

WMUCarGuy. I agree the GT3 is just begging form some race liveries, witness the reaction to the Recaro and Yokohama specials (I hope AUTOart is listening :happy ). In the meantime good luck with the mod, and enjoy our forum.

X, could we maybe start a sticky in the Custom thread for links to sources for decals and the like. Seems to be a popluar request.

:cheers

You might try John Bartos here...

He does some pretty stellar decals for CART and such, so he might be able to help you out on this.

Good luck. That should look pretty sweet when done. Just my $.02, but it would probably be best to lay down the blue as a primary color and then decal it up. You can also try contacting the team for an exact color. Tell them you'll do one for them if they'll sign yours.

RadicalDecals.com offers custom decals as well. :cheers
