Hi Guys ,
I've owned this model for years and it always bugged me that Spark got the windscreen tint at the top wrong doing it in black instead of white . I have the 1/43 Spark as well which was done correctly . Did they ever issue a proper decal to correct it or did some other company make the decal to correct the problem ?
Thanks,
Bryan

You might try Pattos, but you'd have to buy the whole decal set just to get the proper windshield strip.

I have this model, but not right in front of me. Is this something you could make out of white decal paper and a good inkjet printer?

I'm not actually sure it's an error. The car seems to have run with the black sun strip during the night (and perhaps early in the race), and the white sun strip at the finish. The latest 1/43 Spark also has it in black:

And here's a black and white photo from the night running:

This photo from the start shows it just coming into shot and it's black here too:

You can't see the race number, but the sister #68 car is in the foreground so that's the #67 at the back. There are other shots, from a Google search, that also show it with the black sun strip. It's a mystery as to why it would change mid-race though!

^ Wow ! I have never seen those pics . I wasn't at Daytona that year , but saw the car race at other venues later in the year . One of my fondest memories is spending close to a half hour talking with Bob Wollek at Lime Rock that year as they were getting prepped for the race on Friday . I seem to recall them having a factory 962C in the trailer ( in half Shell livery ) awaiting approval from IMSA to run it - which didn't come . At least I can leave the model alone and display my Spark 1/43 with the white band alongside it .
Thanks,
Bryan

Around the 11:38 only the 68 car clearly with the black windscreen.
Around the 21:20 pitstop nightime , 22:22, 35:10 marks displays the 67 car indeed with the white windscreen.

Then we have this

So im with Spikeyone the 67 car started with the black windscreen and somewhere along the race nightime? they changed it in white.
Why? still a mistery indeed.
