I'm delighted to see that Spark is going to release in 1/18th (!!!) three world championship grand prix cars that are long overdue: Graham Hill's 1962 BRM P56, Jack Brabham's 1966 Brabham BT19-Repco and teammate Denny Hulme's 1967 Brabham BT24-Repco (although we called them Repco Brabhams back when it was actually happening).

Classified in the Spark catalog as "1/18th F1 Classic", two other champions' cars - Nelson Piquet's 1981 Brabham BT49C-Cosworth Ford and another variant on Jim Clark's 1965 Lotus 33-Coventry Climax - and eight other 60s-80s Formula One cars are listed.

Now if only CMC or (dare I say it) Exoto would pick something from that time period for 1/18th in DIECAST. My personal choice is the 1964-65 BRM P261 with the distinctive Kamm-style rear tail driven by factory Owen Racing Organization drivers Graham Hill, Richie Ginther, Richard Attwood, Jackie Stewart and Mike Spence as late as 1967 and also with larger engines in the Australian/New Zealand annual Tasman Championships (that's Stewart below in practice for the 1966 Monaco Grand Prix):

Amen to that Jersey!! Exoto have been stagnant with their subject matter for a LONG time. If they want to retain my interest they better come out with new XS F1 stuff. As for Spark, since I don't like resin models I will have to say no to most of their offerings, even though I do like a lot of their 1/18 subject matter. The only exception I will make will be for the Benetton B194, it will be good to have a high-quality Schumacher F1 car other than what Minichamps and Hot Wheels have produced.
Nooooo Spark, Say it aint so. No Williams FW36 in 1/18 this year?
I noticed there's a 1:18 GT3 RS in white in their new catalog, anyone know where I can pre-order it (in the US) before the prices go insane?
I would love to have one those 991 GT3 RS in 1/12 in Ultraviolet.

Thats Bad ass indeed. I am sure I remember Craig telling me a while back that this was going to be made.

I almost bought the all white one like 20 times..
Haha, me too! Especially when I saw it on sale for about 50% it was hard to resist, but I somehow managed it.

I see Cartima have in stock a new 956 by Spark. The #2 Stefan Bellof 956 as raced at the Nordschleife in 1983 as part of the World Sportscar Championship (what is the WEC today). Limited run of 300 models

I like !! Sadly I already have too many 956 models so it's not one for me :(

At last we have the 1/18 Bellof version. I might be tempted to buy that one.
Its a iconic car with history.
However the price tag that's putting me of.
Dont know if this will be the new spark pricing meaning that i hope this is a one off because of the limited edition factor.
Spark have released the 1956 Lotus XI driven by Colin Chapman at Le Mans, picture from the web as ever:

Looks a bit more accurate than the previous BoS version - which seems to be based on how the car is now, as opposed to how it ran in '56, and has a couple of mistakes. The Spark also has rivets in the bodywork, which the BoS doesn't. Anyone planning on adding this? I think the XI is a beautiful car, but the Aston Martin DBR1 is probably my least favourite Spark model, so I'm not sure on adding this one until I've seen some better photos.
