I have been waiting FOREVER for someone to do the Dodge Shelby Charger in 1/18... yeah, I'm weird. But seriously, I owned three of these cars back in the day, the best one a Garnet Red '87 turbo. Loved it!

Has anyone held one of these in their hands who could give me a yay or nay as to the quality of the model? Are they lightweight things or weighted like the GT Spirit resin cars? At close to $300 Canadian, I could probably find a real one that needs a little TLC for the same price.

They look good albeit with a few incorrect details. The outside rearview mirrors should be black, not body-colour, opposite for the fuel cap which should be body-colour. The steering wheel is detailed like a much earlier Omni/Horizon version with the black ribbed centre pad and metal spokes whereas the Shelby turbos all came with interior-coloured steering wheels with the spokes vinyl-covered and integrated with the rest of the wheel. Small things but strange that they got them wrong. As long as I'm nit-picking, the SHELBY graphic on the rear window is a bit too high and the car's display base labels it as a 1985 yet the model itself has the 1986-up CHMSL (centre high-mounted stop light) on the top of the rear spoiler. That safety regulation didn't come out in the USA until 1986 so the 1983-1985 Shelby Chargers didn't have it.

Anyway, I want one but need a recommendation first before I pull the trigger.

My Shelby arrived today and I have to say, it's very good. Proportions are great and only the mirrors are a bit off from the real car. Too swept back but not really noticeable unless you really know the 1:1 well.

As mentioned before, the mirrors should be black and the gas cap body colour (not the reverse), plus the steering wheel is incorrectly detailed but I've been waiting a long time for a replica of my old Shelby Charger so I won't complain about a couple of minor things.

The model is definitely weighty which I am happy about. I always worry that resin models will be lightweight and plasticky, this is anything but.

Overall, I am very pleased. Thank you LS Collectibles for making this model!

I'm super happy to hear that exc911ence received his model- I admit, I've been getting worried about if LS is still around or not. I'd preordered (I think- it's been so long I can't remember!) their AMC Pacer in yellow. I *think* it was due out February 2019, then bumped out to August '19. I contacted LS in May 2019, but I haven't seen anything further about the Pacer (or any of their cars, honestly). I'm also interested in their GMC Typhoon.
I can't tell if their website has been updated recently but their Facebook shows no new activity since January of this year.
Does anyone have a contact for them, or know if they're still moving ahead with the Pacer/other models?

This news about the Shelby Charger is encouraging, though! I'm excited that it's (mostly) accurate, weighty, and you're pleased with it! :)
