I'm not defending CMC at all, but actually many of the recent CMC models got the wrong shape. I remember people were complaining when the models below just got released, look at what they are going for nowadays.

250 California: the front window is too upright.

250 GTO: the 1:1's shape is not as iconic as some of the other GTOs

312P: the rivets are too big

DB4 GT Zagato: too bulbous

I’m not sure their 911 is that accurate, either. The details are lovely but the shape looks wrong.

I like the 904 a lot, and I have Minichamps’ in 1:18 which is fine. CMC’s could have been my first mega indulgent 1:18, but not with that shape or ‘let’s off road!’ ride height.

Not really - they file several billion Euros profit quarter by quarter.
Even the impressive price of €135 is just peanuts for them.
Hard to understand what was driving this decesion...

Agree. I’m intrigued as to why they moved it on, too.
