Hi guys, recently I became aware of the following rumors w.r.t. CMC's plans for 2018:

-Jaguar Type C, 1952 (XK120 C)
-Ferrari 275 GTB/C, 1966
-Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100) Pullman-Limousine (6-door) 1960s/1970s

Did anyone catch up similar expectations? We will have to wait for the Nuremberg Toy Fare to get official information , I'm afraid...

Really would love to see a W100 from CMC - crazy what prices are being quoted for the AUTOart MB600!

Ferrari 275 for me, easy! I am genuinely excited by this news! I hope it can be proved soon!

Would be great if they did a non wire wheel version just to be different!
I just hope they get the shape right, it's quirky enough to get completely wrong like they did with the Aston Martin Zagato!

Very true!
Let's keep fingers crossed that CMC gets it right whatever their next model will be...
By the way: I'd love to see the W100 in a SWB version!

Very true! It seems that some spectaculars outhere are going to have a hard time...

By the way:
Bubbles like this can be observed quite often where collectors are active - famous example:
In 2007 the LEGO company released a huge Star Wars Set of the Millennium Falcon - 6500 parts, original price at 500 Euro.
2 years later the set was discontinued and over the years prices rocketed to a range 5000-8000 Euro (sic!).
Finally LEGO re-released the set in 2017, selling it for 800 Euros.
==> Tough times for speculators!

It's so sad that they seem to completely withdraw from diecast production!!
Especially AUTOart's signature edition has shown some little gems for us collectors!

By the way: The W100 from AUTOart wasn't able to convince me. Some years ago (when it already was sold out for years) I bought a Pullman from a German dealer for about 400€. The model was mint and from outside great looking but a huge disappointment when I opened the engine hood. I didn't need to think twice and immediately returned it, happy to get my refund without any problem.

Of course I know that there are collectors willing to pay almost anything for a very rare model but I would never pay such a price if the model does not fully convince me - regardless how rare it might be. There are so many great diecast models out there...

What do you guys think? How much add-on would be acceptable for a sold out and rare model?

Thanks ferrariforever, I fully agree: Clearly supply and demand rule the market and drive the prices.

But my question was meant slightly different - maybe I should try to re-phrase it:

How far in terms of price-addon would members be willing to go for a rare model when no re-release is in sight.
For me personally there certainly is a kind of limit (depending also on the quality of the model) - as you can see from the little anecdote I added to my last post.

The Autoart Pullman was the first few models that I got and started me this hobby, so it has an important position in my heart.
I do agree that the engine is not that detailed enough. However, I usually keep the hood down so it doesn't bother me too much. XDD.
I can fully understand what you mean, Wilfred!!

It's just the same with me:
My very first model was a F40 from Bburago which I acquired more than 25 years ago and I would never give away although it's quality is far, far, far below AUTOart, CMC and many others.
I couldn't better phrase it than you did: It has a special position in my heart."

Has anyone already seen the C-Type Ecurie Ecosse version in real life?
The model is now being offered by CK but have a look at CK's own pictures - the colour looks horrible:

I think those are just bad pictures. I've seen other pics people have posted on facebook and it looks on par with the car as seen today.

Guess you're right, ssiddi2. .

Modelissimo shows own pictures too and those look as should be expected:
