I think you are correct. The blue version version with ext. muffler and visors was limited and will not be re-released.Am I correct in my assumption that M-088 is not being re-released? I see M-243 is the blue interior car, but the photo doesn't show the external muffler, so it'll be the blue interior car without the muffler, hood visor, and now with the fuel filler cap in the rear glass?
Toronto Motorsport in Canada, Replicarz, CMC USA and others... as soon as they will carry them on their website. Can be also pre-ordered on CMC website as they ship worldwide.Where can people in North America pre order these models?
I do not know what CMC is thinking by limiting the non-red 275 models to only 1000 units each color. I remember the California non-red models were limited to 2500 units each. The 911 non-white models limited to 5000 units each color. Even the M-088 SLR was limited to 4000 units I believe. Don´t they want to make more money? They announced 3 new colors for the Ferrari 275 GTB/C: British racing green, California Blue and Giallo Modena. All limited 1000 pcs. 10% off preorders on CMC website (until Feb. 11). BUT.. they raised the prices 20% on the previously announced versions (plain red and racing versions) which anyways are sold out on pre-order on CMC website. Pretty sure the retailers will follow and raise their prices.
They produced 4 different California and 5 different Porsche. But they produce 8 different 275 GTB/C. That's about the same in total.I do not know what CMC is thinking by limiting the non-red 275 models to only 1000 units each color. I remember the California non-red models were limited to 2500 units each. The 911 non-white models limited to 5000 units each color. Even the M-088 SLR was limited to 4000 units I believe. Did this SLR, with blue interior and the silencer outside the exhaust and extra parts on the hood, really exist?M-088 (300SLR with the silencer outside the exhaust and extra parts on the hood) will not be reproduced, CMC stated that in Facebook. The one being reproduced is the M-076 with the red interior but now it will have another version with a blue interior (no silencer or extra parts on the hood).
As for the racecars we will just have to wait until more detail or CMC shows a prototype, there are literally only a few images of these racecars online.
That is the car Rudolf Uhlenhaut used personally. It is now sitting in the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart. Although they removed the external muffler, the car still has the hood visor (wind deflector). The second car, with the red interior is the more prominent one, since Mercedes allows it to leave the museum, I think most recently, it was featured in this video:Did this SLR, with blue interior and the silencer outside the exhaust and extra parts on the hood, really exist?
Yes, it is shown in the photo featured on the CMC M-246 page:Indeed, but I forgot one word in the translation of my question. I apologize.
It would have been "Did this SLR, with blue interior, without the silencer outside the exhaust and without extra parts on the hood, really exist?"
Must be nice, to have such disposable cash... I got lucky a year ago, got mine for a steal, but it came with the plastic hood visor missing, and for photos, I just clone out the attachment points, but obviously from a collector's perspective, that's an issue, so I'm really tempted to pre-order another one... decisions, decisions...A week ago the blue interior 300 SLR was sold for 3555 USD (ebay 384688775509)...
Thank you very much for this clarification and for drawing attention to this index. That makes it a really interesting version. I can't wait to see the model. You can tell it is not the red interior car, by the Mercedes badge on the hood, above the grille. The red interior car didn't have it.
Only 2 of these SLR have been made and Mercedes-Benz owns both of them. The car with blue interior was exposed in Stuttgart at the time I visited the MB museum (2018). A plate mentioned it was never used in racing but however the head of the Test department, Rudolf Uhlenhaut used it as personal car. It was this same car that was fitted with a side muffler apparently because Uhlenhaut neighbours complained about the noise. The muffler has been removed since. The deflector on the hood is still in place.Indeed, but I forgot one word in the translation of my question. I apologize.
