As per Reds model cars on Facebook.

First preview of the Signature Plus 1/18 prototype of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 by Bburago. Signature Plus is a high quality range, coming with lavish details and full openings. The closed version in “Rosso corsa 322” (colour as photos), while the open version will come in metallic “Rosso magna”. Expected July 2023.

This looks promising in detail. Just as long as it's OPEN SESAME then I think some of us should be satisfied

Looking really good. I do like the exterior, a lot. But the "lavish details" part, well... l'll need to see one up close and be the judge of that.

If it's got rubber or plastic seatbelts, solid plastic grilles and printed plastic CF simulation, then my idea of "lavish" is very different from that of BBurago's.

What is special about the Daytona SP3? Just want to know. I have no idea about this car until today after looking at these pics.
I am not sure whether I like it, but may be after sometime it will grow on me.

It's a limited production, non-hybrid, pure mid-engined V12, Enzo-like beast! It's sort of a hommage to the past Ferrari sports prototypes of the 70's (330 P4, 412P, ...).

Dunno if its the lighting but this looks much better than that 296
The 296 looks very childish. I dunno what it is about those pics.
I guess the 296 might be the Race & Play version, basically a toy. The massive solid grille across the front is awful, it has shallow closed vents next to it, and just generally the detailing in areas like the headlights is pretty half-hearted.

From the photos at least, the SP3 looks pretty good to me. At the right price I could be tempted.

Carmodel.com Italy has the Daytona SP3 on their site, @ €89.95.

If this is the final product, I'm not too impressed with that front grille. Looks to me like solid plastic simulating a honey comb grille:

I feel bad pointing that out, because of the price. But at the same time, I'm a bit disappointed because of the promise of "lavish details", and all that song and dance it's been made around this "Signature PLUS" range.

Also, it's only €10 dearer than the normal Signature version will cost, so I don't think there'll be much difference in detail from one range to the other.

But I'm only speculating. I need to see the final product, maybe I'll fall for it in the end.

+1. That's certainly disappointing if it's the final model rather than just a prototype. That mesh would be more tolerable if it weren't quite so shiny.

Sadly don't expect the mesh to be better. But the flash in the pics certainly doesn't help with the looks. Norev pricing for Bburago quality is not a good deal, but we don't have much choice... Unless it quickly ends up discounted as the SF90 is now :D

Thank you for sharing that @slartibartfast229 - it's a fantastic comparison and great review by Raceland. I completely missed the images and prices on the first page and thought from the Spark that they were reviewing a 1/18 rather than a 1/43! The louvres next to the cockpit are head and shoulders above even the Minichamps version.

For modern F1 models, Spark really do set the standard. How you view the rest of their models inevitably depends on your opinions on sealed vs opening and that's been done to death elsewhere 😉
