In Sweden and maybe some other countrys the Nissan Silvia was renamed to 180/200 SX because or queen is named Silvia.
And the Honda Fitta was renamed to Jazz in Sweden for some reason .
Those names were also used in the UK.

Datsun's use of old fashioned English names (eg the Cedric!) were a great cause of derision and no doubt hurt sales when they first came on the UK market.

Don't forget names such as Sunny - something which most certainly didn't feel a part of the driving experience.
Other 'comedy' names from the period - Crown, cherry and some others that I have managed to blank from my memory!
Nissan/Datsun didn't stick with the Fairlady name when exporting the 'Z' cars, so they were aware of sensitivities.
Perhaps they knew their products were comically poor, and driven mostly by the elderly.... :D

I don't want to be a kill joy, but this stuff should go into a whole new thread.

If one is made, I'll put the replies in there.

Does anyone know if Otto is plannig to release other colors of e39 M5? I see a wave of silver ones hitting the classifieds here again and I was wondering if there is a reason behind it.
I hope it is a dark color. The black accents on the silver car were unevenly applied on some examples. I am hoping for a navy blue version if that isn't already released.

I was once told that this last release was the first produced after a factory switch, hence many qc errors and these badly painted bits. It was the first Otto I've seen and the reason to lose interest in their offerings for a long time. Sort of navy blue (Avus Blue) has already been released, alongside 'silverwater blue' that sounds like some weird blend of silverstone and bluewater, and that last plain Jane titanium silver. I'd kill for Anthracite over caramel. Or Oxford Green over caramel. Or my Jet Black, you guessed it, over caramel ;) Or Imola Red over anything. So many interesting colors to pick from and they've decided to go for silver after years of waiting for another one.

I would love me an Imola Red E39 M5. Will sit well next to the Autoart E46 M3 in the same color. I doubt Otto makes these cars in these colors though as they stick to safe colors for these kind of sedans. The wildest one I seen from them is a red 560 SEC which was the latest addition to my collection from them.
