Derrick, the pic was taken with a black background in this case it's a silk type material,the "floor" is a blue poster board...............the after effects of lighting are done in layers in photo shop using gradients, some blue and some black........I think that in this photo I used maybe about 7 or 8 layers just on the lighting...
