These look great. I've always thought 1:24 would be the ideal scale, big enough for opening parts and good detail but smaller than 1:18 and hence more room in the cabinet!

Yup, same here. that is why I started building model kits, the scale is perfect. Smaller than 1/18, and yet big enough to fit as much (if not more) detail if desired.

I think 1:24 scale is a pretty darn good choice. They're really not THAT much smaller than 1:18, but the price is MUCH less than 1:18 !
