I've read reviews that stated that the engine bay of the RX-8 was a little bland because of the plastic cover that hides the engine (118motors.com, for example). This is present on the 1:1 car also. I've never seen any mention that it might be removable.

Well, I was looking closely at my new model today and low and behold it looks as if that engine cover might come off. And it does! Revealing a nicely detailed little rotary engine.

Those of you with RX-8's should check it out. :danbanna

P.S. I know this thread is useless without pics, but I don't have a digital camera at the moment. I'll try to get my roommates later to take a pic.

Yup, some sites actually shown the RX8 with the removable engine cover. It's pretty cool! :cool1

I was about to get one but the store didn't have the color I want in stock.
I think I might have to make the RX8 my next AutoArt :danbanna
i almost got one too..but the only red one had its wing mirror broken off... how sad... i wld like to see how the black one looks though...but i think i'll still get red

I like those small details that AUTOart include with their models - their Mercedes CL-Class models have a functional sunroof.
They do? I didn't know that either! :giggle :cheers
