AA Murcielago

Hi folks,

I've been hoping to get myself my first AUTOart (VW Phaeton or the Lambo Murcie) cheap in the January sales, but I've not found a single retailer online having a sale! Modelshops here in the UK have a very limited selection of AUTOart available too - the shop I looked in only has the Boxster S.

Some UK retailers are asking £40 for the Lambo, but I don't know if this is a good price? I was hoping to get it for less than this - I could buy one on eBay.com for £22 (but then there's the shipping to the UK). I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get hold of these models (at a reduced price if possible).

i havent found anywhere in the uk that sells cheap £40 is about right for the uk and buying from the states is a waste of time. i was going to get a UT model which was around $15 but the guy wanted $38 shipping what s*@# is that :(

i dont really care i usually just pay £40-£50 for the AUTOart cars but you might have better luck looking in europe as shipping is much better for one modelissmo.de is a great site.

Traders like myself, have to pay much more for AUTOart models than other countries, why? I don't know.

Most performance models I sell around £37-40 and then Mill. Editions are £48.00

It does annoy me that the UK always seem to get ripped off with pricing, but its just one of those things.
The usual price for the AutoArt Lamborghini Murcielago or VW Phaeton is ~60 EUR (ca. 40 £) in germany. Both models arn't from AUTOart Millenium serie.

I think modelman was talking about the 40th anniversary Murcielago.

:iagree

But I try to give an answer to DanielB... Whether the 40th Murcielago be or not to be an AUTOart-Millenium model - I don't know. I have the normally version.

DanielB - I have had several conversations with the owner of my local modelshop, who said that the poor availability of AAs in the UK this year, was down to the importers. The latter part of 2004, all he was able to get was the M3 CSLs, Lambo Gallardo, Boxters and the old shape Range Rover. He said that they kept fobbing him off with excuses!
If my local model dealer is having problems, then i imagine others across the country are too!
As for the Phaeton, i've only ever seen one in the metal (the one i bought). You don't seem to see any around.

:cheers
Thanks for the replies. I have a friend who works in a branch of ModelZone, and he too says that getting hld of AUTOart cars is a very hard task for them. They have the Boxster S instock, and that is all.

He said he's going to try and order me a Yellow Lambo - fingers crossed!

PS - thanks for the replies. :)

The old supplier use to be Gateway Global, who were really poor, luckily Amerang (the main UK suppliers for most models) now supply the models, and thankfully new releases are coming through, most recently the AUTOart Subaru Impreza Rally cars.

Lets hope it continues into 2005.

I get a few models through Modellenium, and Phil there tells me the same story; it's down to the importer.

I've got 2 Anniversary Murcielagos on order, and still no sign of them: might have to resort to eBay, but have you seen the prices?????!!!!!
I just made a great deal at my local shop, found two Murcie 40th for 85€ each :giggle i took both because a friend wanted one badly :) Good luck on your hunt!

It seems modelcars in the UK are very expensive. Modelissimo ships and unlimited order of models to the UK for only 10 euro... They have some good prices sometime!

:ranting - I have heard, and am pretty sure this is the case...unfortunately there isn't much we can do, although it is illegal.
G
Modelman - what part of this is illegal?

:feedback

:cheers

Well, obviously I presume Modelzone/Amerang (if they have a connection) and have gone about it legally.

But as Amerang are a wholesaler, they can not sell direct to the general public, and thats what they would be doing through Modelzone.

I'm sure they have both companies in different names, and therefore you can't do anything.

In other words, Amerang are importing models at what must be pretty cheap prices and then selling them to the public at full RRP. I can not say this is fact, because I just simply don't know, but there have been many rumors proving this may be the case.
