I am looking for information on AUTOart's newest GT3R's.

I can't seem tofind any information relating to the cars history, race finishes, driver bios, race finishes(oops did I mention that already).

I pretty much would like to know the entire history of these models. I figure if they are going to be part of my collection, I might as well learn a little about them before hand.

Here is the listing:

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R DAYTONA 24HRS 2002' "RED BULL" QUESTER/RICCITELLI/VOSSE/SAID #7
1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R DAYTONA 24HRS GT CLASS 2002 WINNER "RACER'S GROUP" BUCKLER/SCHROM/BERNHARD/BERGMEISTER #66
1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R 24HRS LEMANS GT CLASS 2002 WINNER "RACER'S GROUP" BUCKLER/SCHROM/BERNHARD/BERGMEISTER #66

I can take a crack at one of these, the #84 car. It was driven Driven by: Vanina Ickx (B)/Patrick Bourdais (F)/Roland Bervillé (F). Vanina is the daughter of racing legend Jacky Ickx. Patrick Bordais is the father of last year's CHAMP Car series winner, Sebastian Bordais.

The car finished 27th in the 2003 Le Mans and I'm quite sure, last overall and in the field. But hey, it did finish the race. :wink

SIDENOTE: It's hilarious that a number of eBay vendors have described this car as the 2003 Le Mans (GT Class) winner. That couldn't be further from the truth. :lol :lol

Felix,

Funny you mention that, from my understanding, most retailers just got their hands on these cars this week. And some of the eBay sellers are already offering these models with that "submit best offer" feature. I expect the prices on these cars to drop like hot cakes just as the 2003 Compuware C5R did after its debut.

If that is a sign, thats going to be hilarious. :lol

DX,
you can find information here. - after visiting this site I am not sure if this the best one because there are results of the races upto 2000. But the results of "new races" are well documented here. And the best place as for 24h LeMans is here (go the the Classification) but it does not work properly often.
As said before, now also AUTOart, in addition to Kyosho which is well known for that, denoted wrong their models.
Except of the #29 (Asian Cup 2003 overall winer) car, which is in fact 996 GT3 Cup, all other models are 996 GT3 RS and NOT 996 GT3R as denoted by AUTOart.

I did my own search and here are results as for correct finishing and denotation of real cars:

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R DAYTONA 24HRS 2002' "RED BULL" QUESTER/RICCITELLI/VOSSE/SAID #7
did not finish GTS - it is GT3 R

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R DAYTONA 24HRS GT CLASS 2002 WINNER "RACER'S GROUP" BUCKLER/SCHROM/BERNHARD/BERGMEISTER #66
1st in GT and 7th overall - it is GT3 RS

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R 24HRS LEMANS GT CLASS 2002 WINNER "RACER'S GROUP" BUCKLER/SCHROM/BERNHARD/BERGMEISTER #66
such car does not exist with this number in this race

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R SEBRING 12HRS 2003' GT CLASS WINNER 2003 'ALEX JOB RACING '#23
1st in GT and 10th overall - it is GT3 RS

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R 24HRS DAYTONA OVERALL WINNER 2003'"RACER GROUP"#66
1st overall - it is GT3 RS

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R ASIAN CARRERA CUP 2003 WINNER CHARLES KWAN #29
overall winner of the championship in 2003 - it is GT3 Cup

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R LEMANS 24 HRS 2003 #84
did not finish GT - it is GT3 RS

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R SEBRING 12 HRS CLASS WINNER 2004'ALEX JOB RACING '#23
1st in GT a 8th overall - it is GT3 RSR

BURN,
see my previous post. Such car does not exists!
But in another list of AUTOart releases I also saw the Racers Group #66 which raced in Daytona 2003 - in in this year it was overall winner (in 2002 not). Therefore the car mentioned by you will probably be the 2003 Daytona car.

To tell the truth, I saw it a bit strange, same team, same drivers won Daytona and Lemans in same year.... pretty successful!
.... It think this explains the rest

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R DAYTONA 24HRS GT CLASS 2002 WINNER "RACER'S GROUP" BUCKLER/SCHROM/BERNHARD/BERGMEISTER #66
1st in GT and 7th overall - it is GT3 RS

1/18 PORSCHE 911 GT3R 24HRS LEMANS GT CLASS 2002 WINNER "RACER'S GROUP" BUCKLER/SCHROM/BERNHARD/BERGMEISTER #66
such car does not exist with this number in this race

I was hoping that this new series would rival my C5R collection, but its not shaping up to well for them in my eyes.

I'm not a big race fan and I am even a lesser fan of fantasy race models.

Just another example of a company shoving something on collectors knowing they will buy because it looks good.

But hey, I'm not complaining, I guess I should just shut up and spend my money...yeah right. :pullhair

Well, at least they look nice! :giggle

I'm not going to buy fantasy racers, of course, but I think by release time, AUTOart might actually get them right?

That Asia Cup Carrera, I MUST obtain it!

From the links Lazard provided, it can be confirmed that the information he posted is correct.

I know the Racers Group had a car compete, however it wasn't the one they are releasing. :confused

Also, some of the the numbers on the cars are wrong...unless they got the description of the car wrong. :confused

Dusan info is correct, and I posted it wasn't. Sorry for the typo. :eek:ops

These listings are a mess! Best thing to do is wait, unfortunately, because they correct them most of the time. If you email the guys of AUTOart, they will most likely clarify things as well.
